Analysis of Multiple Annular Pressure in Gas Storage Well and High-Pressure Gas Well

    Lihu Cao1,2, Jinsheng Sun1,*, Bo Zhang3,*, Nu Lu4, Yuqiang Xu1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.1, pp. 35-48, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.022867

Abstract In gas storage or high-pressure gas wells, annular pressure is an unavoidable threat to safe, long-term resource production. The more complex situation, however, is multiple annular pressure, which means annular pressure happens in not only one annulus but two or more. Such a situation brings serious challenges to the identification of well integrity. However, few researches analyze the phenomenon of multiple annular pressure. Therefore, this paper studies the mechanism of multi-annular pressure to provide a foundation for its prevention and diagnosis. Firstly, the multi-annular pressure is classified according to the mechanism and field data. Then the failure mechanism and function… More >

Nonlinear Identification and Control of Laser Welding Based on RBF Neural Networks

    Hongfei Wei1,*, Hui Zhao2, Xinlong Shi1, Shuang Liang3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.1, pp. 51-65, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.017739

Abstract A laser beam is a heat source with a high energy density; this technology has been rapidly developed and applied in the field of welding owing to its potential advantages, and supplements traditional welding techniques. An in-depth analysis of its operating process could establish a good foundation for its application in China. It is widely understood that the welding process is a highly nonlinear and multi-variable coupling process; it comprises a significant number of complex processes with random uncertain factors. Because of their nonlinear mapping and self-learning characteristics, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have certain advantages in comparison to traditional methods… More >

Model Identification and Control of Evapotranspiration for Irrigation Water Optimization

    Wafa Difallah1,2,*, Fateh Bounaama2, Belkacem Draoui2, Khelifa Benahmed3, Abdelkader Laaboudi4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.1, pp. 1749-1767, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019071

Abstract Water conservation starts from rationalizing irrigation, as it is the largest consumer of this vital source. Following the critical and urgent nature of this issue, several works have been proposed. The idea of most researchers is to develop irrigation management systems to meet the water needs of plants with optimal use of this resource. In fact, irrigation water requirement is only the amount of water that must be applied to compensate the evapotranspiration loss. Penman-Monteith equation is the most common formula to evaluate reference evapotranspiration, but it requires many factors that cannot be available in many cases. This leads to… More >
