    Differential Responses of Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) Cultivars to Exogenous Indole-3-Butyric Acid Application

    Abstract Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) is a globally important legume crop valued for its nutritional content and adaptability. Establishing a robust root system during early growth is critical for optimal nutrient uptake, shoot development, and increased resistance to biotic stress. This study evaluated the effects of exogenous indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) on root and shoot development in two bean cultivars, Onceler-98 and Topcu, during the seedling stage.     Abstract In this research, we developed a novel photo-stimulation-responsive composite sphere with a semi-interpenetrating polymer network (semi-IPN) structure, synthesized via an alkali gel method, to enhance the efficiency of agrochemicals. Chitosan (CS) serves as the structural matrix and protective shell, with a loading capacity for the plant growth hormone indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) of up to 41.73 μg/mg, effectively controlling the abrupt release of auxin. The incorporation of photothermal detonation nanodiamond (DND) and the photosensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm) endows the spheres with the ability to respond to light and temperature stimuli, achieving intelligent control over IBA release.     Indole-3-butyric acid on rooting and endogenous plant hormones in tetraploid and diploid Robinia pseudoacacia hardwood cuttings

    Abstract Robinia pseudoacacia (locust hereafter) is an ornamental tree with various uses. Both homologous tetraploid (tetraploid hereafter) and diploid cultivars are commercially available. The tetraploids have advantageous traits, but poor germinability, and cuttings are difficult to root. Since auxin applications can promote rooting, we evaluated the effects of dipping cuttings in various indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) concentrations for four hours on rooting parameters. IBA significantly affected all measured parameters of both tetraploid and diploids cuttings. Tetraploid cuttings produced no roots without IBA.     Abstract The induction and improvement of in vitro rhizogenesis of microshoots of Prosopis chilensis (Mol.) Stuntz and Nothofagus alpina (Poep. et Endl. Oerst.) were compared using Agrobacterium rhizogenes (Ar) versus indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) in the culture media. Microshoots of P. chilensis (1-2 cm length), coming from in vitro grown seedlings, were cultivated in a modified Broadleaved Tree Medium (BTMm) containing half salt concentration of macronutrients and 0.05 mg.L-1 benzilaminopurine (BAP).
