    Cheng Wang1, Haoran Zhu2,*, Congjun Rao2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.1, pp. 691-718, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029258

Abstract Cardiovascular disease (CVD) has gradually become one of the main causes of harm to the life and health of residents. Exploring the influencing factors and risk assessment methods of CVD has become a general trend. In this paper, a machine learning-based decision-making mechanism for risk assessment of CVD is designed. In this mechanism, the logistics regression analysis method and factor analysis model are used to select age, obesity degree, blood pressure, blood fat, blood sugar, smoking status, drinking status, and exercise status as the main pathogenic factors of CVD, and an index system of risk assessment for CVD is established.… More >

Adventitious Root Regeneration: Molecular Basis and Influencing Factors

    Lulu Zhi, Xiangyang Hu*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.10, pp. 2825-2840, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.030912

Abstract Plant regeneration is a self-repair of the plant body in response to adverse conditions or damaged structures, and root regeneration allows the plant body to better adapt to its environment by supplementing the roots’ structure. Previous research has shown that adventitious roots can be made to occur from scratch in two ways. Studies that simulate adventitious root regeneration through natural conditions allow the regeneration process to be broadly divided into three stages: the perception of early signals, the massive accumulation of auxin, and the transformation of cell fate. The strength of regeneration, in turn, is influenced by wounding, stress, hormones,… More >

Study on Influencing Factors of Methane Production Efficiency of Microbial Electrolytic Cell with CO2 as Carbon Source

Qifen Li, Yuanbo Hou*, Yongwen Yang, Liting Zhang, Xiaoxiao Yan

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.8, pp. 3333-3350, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.027464

Abstract Reducing CO2 to produce methane through microbial electrolytic cell (MEC) is one of the important methods of CO2 resource utilization. In view of the problem of low methanogenesis rate and weak CO2 conversion rate in the reduction process, the flow field environment of the cathode chamber is changed by changing the upper gas circulation rate and the lower liquid circulation rate of the cathode chamber to explore the impact on the reactor startup and operation and products. The results showed that under certain conditions, the CO2 consumption and methane production rate could be increased by changing the upper gas recirculation… More >

A Review of Research on Galvanic Corrosion of Aluminum Alloys

Huixin Zhu, Mingzhe Leng*, Guofeng Jin*, Heyang Miao

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.7, pp. 1907-1923, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.025416

Abstract When aluminum alloys are coupled with dissimilar materials, they often act as corrosion anodes and are suscepted to accelerated corrosion. Therefore, deepening our knowledge of such corrosion phenomena, related mechanisms, and elaborating new prediction model is of great theoretical and practical significance. In this paper, such mechanisms are explained from both macroscopic and microscopic points of view by considering several aspects such as the second phase particle type, grain size, and environmental ions. More specifically, different perspectives on such a problem are elaborated, which take into account: the properties of the coupling pair materials, geometrical characteristics, environmental media characteristics, the… More >

Qualitative Exploration and Correction Strategies of the Criminal Psychological Mechanism of the Burglars

    Biqian Cheng1, Lulu Chen2, Bo Yang3,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 595-611, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2023.027321

Abstract In order to explore the criminal psychological mechanism of burglars, this study adopts the qualitative research method of grounded theory to conduct in-depth interviews with 41 burglars in two prisons in Jiangxi Province, China. Nvivo 11.0 was used to code-construct and qualitatively analyze the interview content in order to refine the influencing factors and psychological evolution process of burglary behavior. The findings revealed that (1) burglary risk factors include burglary cognition, burglary motivation, burglary decision-making, delinquent peers, burglary opportunity, and incomplete reformation. (2) There are three stages in the psychological evolution process of burglars: cognitive formation, motivational dominance, and behavioral… More > Graphic Abstract

An Extended Fuzzy-DEMATEL System for Factor Analyses on Social Capital Selection in the Renovation of Old Residential Communities

    Guoshuai Sun1,2,3, Xiuru Tang1, Shuping Wan2,*, Jiao Feng4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.2, pp. 1041-1067, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021981

Abstract China has been promoting the renovation of old residential communities vigorously. Due to the financial pressure of the government and the sustainability of the renovation of old residential communities, public-private partnerships (PPP) have already gained attention. The selection of social capital is key to improving the efficiency of the PPP model in renovating old residential communities. In order to determine the influencing factors of social capital selection in the renovation of old residential communities, this paper aims to find an effective approach and analyze these factors. In this paper, a fuzzy decision-making and trial evaluation laboratory (fuzzy-DEMATEL) technique is extended… More >

Influencing Factors of Total Factor Energy Efficiency in Bohai Rim Region Based on DEA-Tobit Model

    Weifeng Gong1,3, Xiaohong Qi2, Chuanhui Wang1,*, Wenwen Li1,3, Yang Xu4

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.4, pp. 1663-1679, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.018886

Abstract Bohai Rim region is an important economic development area and a large carbon emission area in China. It is of great significance to explore the total factor energy efficiency and its influencing factors for the low carbon transformation and high-quality development of the Bohai Rim region. Based on the total factor energy efficiency framework, the DDF-DEA model was used to calculate the total factor energy efficiency, and the internal and external differences of the total factor energy efficiency were further analyzed. The internal and external influencing factors were determined by ML index method and classical endogenous growth theory, and then… More >

Modeling and Experimental Study for Automotive Dry Clutch Sliding Noise

Jiali Yu, Zhili Xiang, Defeng Zhang, Yubing Gong*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.3, pp. 1653-1667, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019280

Abstract Automotive dry clutches have been found to produce a low frequency sliding noise in many applications, which challenges the ride comfort of vehicles. In order to study this clutch sliding noise, a detailed finite element model including both a pressure plate assembly and a driven plate assembly was developed. Based on this model, a complex eigenvalue analysis is performed in this research. The effect of several major factors on the clutch sliding noise, such as the coefficient of friction, the clamping force, the geometric imperfection of the friction plate, and the thermal deformation of the pressure plate, were investigated numerically.… More >
