Low Cost Autonomous Learning and Advising Smart Home Automation System

    Daniel Chioran*, Honoriu Valean

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.3, pp. 1939-1952, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.020649

Abstract In today’s world, more than ever before, we are fascinated and drawn towards smart autonomous devices that make our lives safer and more comfortable. Devices that aid in reducing our energy consumption are also highly appreciated but often quite expensive to buy. This context is favorable for developing an autonomous smart home automation system (SHAS) with energy-saving potential and low price, making it widely accessible. This paper presents the design and prototype implementation of such a low-cost micro-controller based autonomous SHAS that learns the resident’s work schedule and integrates a wide array of sensors and actuators to automatically control the… More >

Development of A Low-Cost Exoskeleton for Rehabilitation and Mobility

    Muhatasim Intisar1, Mohammad Monirujjaman Khan1,*, Mehedi Masud2, Mohammad Shorfuzzaman2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 101-115, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.019083

Abstract Paralysis is detrimental to people in catastrophic ways: losing income opportunities, becoming a burden to their friends and family, further physical deterioration, and the combination of these occurrences can often lead to depression. In third world countries, suffering from paralysis can be extra deleterious, where a large proportion of the population is engaged in some form of physical labor. The number of people exposed to paralysis risk factors is also increasing, with more and more people having hypertension, smoking, and other abnormalities. Besides, low workplace safety precautions may lead to an increased risk of spinal cord injury in developing nations.… More >

    Qi Wang1,2,3,*, Changsong Yang2,3,5, Yuxiang Wang1,2,3, Shao-en Wu4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.6, pp. 1433-1442, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.012759

Abstract To improve the positioning accuracy of farming vehicle in precision agriculture, an integrated positioning system is proposed based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)/Strapdown Inertial Navigation System (SINS)/Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) with low cost and high reliability. The principles of commonly used localization technologies in vehicle positioning are compared and the Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) based measurement method is chosen as the integrated positioning system for information fusion considering the complexity of the algorithm, positioning accuracy and hardware requirements in the application scenario. The research of wireless signal propagation loss model of farmland environment was conducted. A set of… More >
