Influence of Brownian Motion, Thermophoresis and Magnetic Effects on a Fluid Containing Nanoparticles Flowing over a Stretchable Cylinder

    Aaqib Majeed1,*, Ahmad Zeeshan2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 525-536, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.028716

Abstract The influence of Brownian motion and thermophoresis on a fluid containing nanoparticles flowing over a stretchable cylinder is examined. The classical Navier-Stokes equations are considered in a porous frame. In addition, the Lorentz force is taken into account. The controlling coupled nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a system of first order ordinary differential equations by means of a similarity transformation. The resulting system of equations is solved by employing a shooting approach properly implemented in MATLAB. The evolution of the boundary layer and the growing velocity is shown graphically together with the related profiles of concentration and temperature.… More >

A STUDY OF MAGNETIC EFFECT ON FLOW BETWEEN TWO PLATES WITH SUCTION OR INJECTION WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO CASSON FLUID

    V. S. Sampath Kumar, N. P. Pai

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.12, pp. 1-9, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.12.23

Abstract The present paper encorporates the effet of magnetic field on the incompressible Casson fluid flow between two parallel infinite rectangular plates approaching towards or away from each other with suction or injection at the porous plates. Using similarity transformations the governing Navier-Stokes equations are reduced to a nonlinear ordinary differential equation. Semi-analytical solution is obtained based on the Homotopy perturbation method. Further, the solution is compared with the classical finite difference method separately. The effect of magnetic field on velocity, skin friction and pressure is analysed on flow between two plates with suction or injection, where two plates moving towards… More >

    K. Kranthi Kumar1,*, CH. Baby Rani2 , A. V. Papa Rao3

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.17, pp. 1-9, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.17.2

Abstract MHD Casson flow fluid over an inclined plate with aligned magnetic, Hall current and thermal radiation in the presence of Chemical reaction is examined. The governing equations are solved using perturbation method. The effects of various physical parameters like as chemical reaction parameter, radiation parameter, Casson parameter, Schmidt number, Grashof number, modified Grashof number, Prandtl number, magnetic parameter, inclined angle, Hall parameter and Aligned parameter are discussed for velocity, temperature and concentration. The skin-friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are also obtained and are shown in tabular form. More >

CASSON FLUID FLOW DUE TO STRETCHING SHEET WITH MAGNETIC EFFECT AND VARIABLE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY

    M. Y. Dhangea,*, G. C. Sankada, Ishwar Maharudrappab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-6, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.36

Abstract The present paper investigates the impacts of heat transfer and magnetic field on the boundary layer flow of Casson fluid over a linearly stretching sheet. The researchers have introduced analytical and numerical solutions for the momentum and energy equations by transforming the equations into the system of ordinary differential equations with the aid of the similarity transformations technique. The velocity and temperature profiles for pertinent constraints like Casson fluid constraint, Chandrasekhar number, Prandtl number, and thermal conductivity are presented through graphs. The influence of the wall shear stress and the Prandtl number increases while the boundary layer thickness decreases. Further,… More >

Dynamical Analysis of Radiation and Heat Transfer on MHD Second Grade Fluid

    Aziz-Ur-Rehman1, Muhammad Bilal Riaz1,2, Syed Tauseef Saeed3, Shaowen Yao4,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.129, No.2, pp. 689-703, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.014980

Abstract Convective flow is a self-sustained flow with the effect of the temperature gradient. The density is non-uniform due to the variation of temperature. The effect of the magnetic flux plays a major role in convective flow. The process of heat transfer is accompanied by a mass transfer process; for instance, condensation, evaporation, and chemical process. Due to the applications of the heat and mass transfer combined effects in a different field, the main aim of this paper is to do a comprehensive analysis of heat and mass transfer of MHD unsteady second-grade fluid in the presence of ramped boundary conditions… More >

Mass Transfer of MHD Nanofluid in Presence of Chemical Reaction on A Permeable Rotating Disk with Convective Boundaries, Using Buongiorno's Model

    Muhammad Shoaib Arif 1, *, Yasir Nawaz1, Mairaj Bibi2, Zafar Ali1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.116, No.1, pp. 31-49, 2018, DOI: 10.31614/cmes.2018.00434

Abstract This communiqué is opted to study the flow of nanofluid because of heated disk rotation subjected to the convective boundaries with chemical reaction of first order. Wherein Buongiorno’s model for nanofluids is used due to its wide range of applications and the rotating disk under investigation is permeable. Small magneto Reynolds parameter and boundary layer assumptions are carried out to formulate the problem. The system of nonlinear partial differential equations governing the flow problem is converted into the set of ordinary differential equations by using particular relations known as Von Karman transformations. The complicated set of coupled ordinary differential equations… More >
