A Survey on the Role of Complex Networks in IoT and Brain Communication

    Vijey Thayananthan1, Aiiad Albeshri2, Hassan A. Alamri3, Muhammad Bilal Qureshi4, Muhammad Shuaib Qureshi5,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.3, pp. 2573-2595, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.040184

Abstract Complex networks on the Internet of Things (IoT) and brain communication are the main focus of this paper. The benefits of complex networks may be applicable in the future research directions of 6G, photonic, IoT, brain, etc., communication technologies. Heavy data traffic, huge capacity, minimal level of dynamic latency, etc. are some of the future requirements in 5G+ and 6G communication systems. In emerging communication, technologies such as 5G+/6G-based photonic sensor communication and complex networks play an important role in improving future requirements of IoT and brain communication. In this paper, the state of the complex system considered as a… More >

Single-cell systems neuroscience: A growing frontier in mental illness

    SEAN J. O’SULLIVAN1,2,*

    BIOCELL, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 7-11, 2022, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2022.017680

Abstract The development of effective treatments for psychiatric disease has been disappointing in recent decades given the advancements in neuroscience. Moreover, rising rates of mental illness such as addiction and depression compel scientists and physicians to discover novel and creative solutions. One such approach that has proven effective is systems neuroscience: A focus on networks as opposed to mechanism. Further, investigation at the single-cell and circuit level is likely to be fruitful in such endeavors as this resolution describes the functional psychopathology that allows for intervention. African Buffalo Optimization Algorithm for Collision-Avoidance in Electric Fish

    Julius Beneoluchi Odili1,*, A. Noraziah2, Mohd Helmy Abd Wahab3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.1, pp. 41-51, 2020, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000059

Abstract This paper presents the African Buffalo Optimization algorithm for collision avoidance among electric fishes. Collision-avoidance in electric fish finds correlation with the Travelling Salesman avoiding the cities he has earlier visited. Collision avoidance in electric is akin to collision-avoidance in modern day driverless cars being promoted by Google Incorporation and other similar companies. The concept of collision-avoidance is also very useful to persons with visual impairment as it will help them avoid collision with objects, vehicles, persons, especially other visually-impaired. After a number of experimental procedures using the concept of the travelling salesman’s problem to simulate collision-avoidance in electric fish,… More >
