Optimal Energy Forecasting Using Hybrid Recurrent Neural Networks

    Elumalaivasan Poongavanam1,*, Padmanathan Kasinathan2, Kulothungan Kanagasabai3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 249-265, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.030101

Abstract The nation deserves to learn what India’s future energy demand will be in order to plan and implement an energy policy. This energy demand will have to be fulfilled by an adequate mix of existing energy sources, considering the constraints imposed by future economic and social changes in the direction of a more sustainable world. Forecasting energy demand, on the other hand, is a tricky task because it is influenced by numerous micro-variables. As a result, an macro model with only a few factors that may be predicted globally, rather than a detailed analysis for each of these variables, is… More >

Optimal Energy Consumption Optimization in a Smart House by Considering Electric Vehicles and Demand Response via a Hybrid Gravitational Search and Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

    Rongxin Zhang1,*, Chengying Yang2,3, Xuetao Li1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.6, pp. 2489-2511, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.021517

Abstract Buildings are the main energy consumers across the world, especially in urban communities. Building smartization, or the smartification of housing, therefore, is a major step towards energy grid smartization too. By controlling the energy consumption of lighting, heating, and cooling systems, energy consumption can be optimized. All or some part of the energy consumed in future smart buildings must be supplied by renewable energy sources (RES), which mitigates environmental impacts and reduces peak demand for electrical energy. In this paper, a new optimization algorithm is applied to solve the optimal energy consumption problem by considering the electric vehicles and demand… More >

Implementing an Optimal Energy Management System for a Set of Microgrids Using the Harmony Search Algorithm

    Xiangjian Shi1,*, Teng Liu2, Wei Mu2, Jianfeng Zhao1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.5, pp. 1843-1860, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.020787

Abstract A microgrid (MG) refers to a set of loads, generation resources and energy storage systems acting as a controllable load or a generator to supply power and heating to a local area. The MG-generated power management is a central topic for MG design and operation. The existence of dispersed generation (DG) resources has faced MG management with new issues. Depending on the level of exchanges between an MG and the main grid, the MG operation states can be divided into independent or grid-connected ones. Energy management in MGs aims to supply power at the lowest cost for optimal load response.… More >

Bayes Theorem Based Virtual Machine Scheduling for Optimal Energy Consumption

    R. Swathy*, B. Vinayagasundaram

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.1, pp. 159-174, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.023706

Abstract This paper proposes an algorithm for scheduling Virtual Machines (VM) with energy saving strategies in the physical servers of cloud data centers. Energy saving strategy along with a solution for productive resource utilization for VM deployment in cloud data centers is modeled by a combination of “Virtual Machine Scheduling using Bayes Theorem” algorithm (VMSBT) and Virtual Machine Migration (VMMIG) algorithm. It is shown that the overall data center’s consumption of energy is minimized with a combination of VMSBT algorithm and Virtual Machine Migration (VMMIG) algorithm. Virtual machine migration between the active physical servers in the data center is carried out… More >

Hybrid Renewable Energy Resources Management for Optimal Energy Operation in Nano-Grid

    Faiza Qayyum1, Faisal Jamil1, Shabir Ahmad2, Do-Hyeun Kim1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.2, pp. 2091-2105, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019898

Abstract Renewable energy resources are deemed a potential energy production source due to their cost efficiency and harmless reaction to the environment, unlike non-renewable energy resources. However, they often fail to meet energy requirements in unfavorable weather conditions. The concept of Hybrid renewable energy resources addresses this issue by integrating both renewable and non-renewable energy resources to meet the required energy load. In this paper, an intelligent cost optimization algorithm is proposed to maximize the use of renewable energy resources and minimum utilization of non-renewable energy resources to meet the energy requirement for a nanogrid infrastructure. An actual data set comprising… More >

    D. Kothandaraman1, A. Balasundaram2,*, R. Dhanalakshmi3, Arun Kumar Sivaraman4, S. Ashokkumar5, Rajiv Vincent4, M. Rajesh4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.2, pp. 3875-3890, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020744

Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming popular nowadays for collecting and sharing the data from the nodes and among the nodes using internet links. Particularly, some of the nodes in IoT are mobile and dynamic in nature. Hence maintaining the link among the nodes, efficient bandwidth of the links among the mobile nodes with increased life time is a big challenge in IoT as it integrates mobile nodes with static nodes for data processing. In such networks, many routing-problems arise due to difficulties in energy and bandwidth based quality of service. Due to the mobility and finite nature of the… More >
