    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.22, No.1, pp. 49-63, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2024.047502

Abstract Visualization experiments were conducted to clarify the operational characteristics of a polymer pulsating heat pipe (PHP). Hydrofluoroether (HFE)-7100 was used as a working fluid, and its filling ratio was 50% of the entire PHP channel. A semi-transparent PHP was fabricated using a transparent polycarbonate sheet and a plastic 3D printer, and the movements of liquid slugs and vapor plugs of the working fluid were captured with a high-speed camera. The video images were then analyzed to obtain the flow patterns in the PHP. The heat transfer characteristics of the PHP were discussed based on the flow patterns and temperature distributions… More >

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.18, No.4, pp. 157-172, 2021, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2021.015605

Abstract A mathematical model has been developed to study the effect of particle drag parameter and frequency parameter on velocity and pressure gradient in nonlinear oscillatory two phase flow. The main purpose is to apply the model to study the combined effect of introduction of the catheter and elastic properties of the arterial wall on the pulsatile nature of the blood flow. We model the artery as an isotropic thin walled elastic tube and the catheter as a coaxial flexible tube. Blood is modeled as an incompressible particulate viscous Newtonian fluid. Perturbation technique has been applied to find the approximations for… More >

An Unsteady Oscillatory Flow of Generalized Casson Fluid with Heat and Mass Transfer: A Comparative Fractional Model

    Anis ur Rehman1, Farhad Ali1, Aamina Aamina2,3,*, Anees Imitaz1, Ilyas Khan4, Kottakkaran Sooppy Nisar5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.2, pp. 1445-1459, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012457

Abstract It is of high interest to study laminar flow with mass and heat transfer phenomena that occur in a viscoelastic fluid taken over a vertical plate due to its importance in many technological processes and its increased industrial applications. Because of its wide range of applications, this study aims at evaluating the solutions corresponding to Casson fluids’ oscillating flow using fractional-derivatives. As it has a combined mass-heat transfer effect, we considered the fluid flow upon an oscillatory infinite vertical-plate. Furthermore, we used two new fractional approaches of fractional derivatives, named AB (Atangana–Baleanu) and CF (Caputo–Fabrizio), on dimensionless governing equations and… More >
