Horizontal Voting Ensemble Based Predictive Modeling System for Colon Cancer

    Ushaa Eswaran1,*, S. Anand2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.2, pp. 1917-1928, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032523

Abstract Colon cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world. Most colon AdenoCArcinoma (ACA) arises from pre-existing benign polyps in the mucosa of the bowel. Thus, detecting benign at the earliest helps reduce the mortality rate. In this work, a Predictive Modeling System (PMS) is developed for the classification of colon cancer using the Horizontal Voting Ensemble (HVE) method. Identifying different patterns in microscopic images is essential to an effective classification system. A twelve-layer deep learning architecture has been developed to extract these patterns. The developed HVE algorithm can increase the system’s performance according to the combined models… More >

    LI YANG1,2, KUN DENG3, ZHIQIANG MOU1,2, PINGFU XIONG1,2, JIAN WEN1,2, JING LI1,2,*

    Oncology Research, Vol.30, No.5, pp. 243-258, 2022, DOI: 10.32604/or.2022.027958

Abstract Background: Considering the great heterogeneity of Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), more accurate prognostic models are urgently needed. This paper combined the advantages of genomics and pathomics to construct a prognostic model. Methods: First, we collected data from hepatocellular carcinoma patients with complete mRNA expression profiles and clinical annotations from the TCGA database. Then, based on immune-related genes, we used random forest plots to screen prognosis-related genes and build prognostic models. Bioinformatics was used to identify biological pathways, evaluate the tumor microenvironment, and perform drug susceptibility testing. Finally, we divided the patients into different subgroups according to the gene model algorithm. Pathological… More >

Women Entrepreneurship Index Prediction Model with Automated Statistical Analysis

    V. Saikumari*, V. Sunitha

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1797-1810, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.034038

Abstract Recently, gender equality and women’s entrepreneurship have gained considerable attention in global economic development. Prior to the design of any policy interventions to increase women’s entrepreneurship, it is significant to comprehend the factors motivating women to become entrepreneurs. The non-understanding of the factors can result in the endurance of low living standards and the design of expensive and ineffectual policies. But female involvement in entrepreneurship becomes higher in developing economies compared to developed economies. Women Entrepreneurship Index (WEI) plays a vital role in determining the factors that enable the flourishment of high potential female entrepreneurs which enhances economic welfare and… More >

Research on Early Warning of Customer Churn Based on Random Forest

Zizhen Qin, Yuxin Liu, Tianze Zhang*

    Journal on Artificial Intelligence, Vol.4, No.3, pp. 143-154, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jai.2022.031843

Abstract With the rapid development of interest rate market and big data, the banking industry has shown the obvious phenomenon of “two or eight law”, 20% of the high quality customers occupy most of the bank’s assets, how to prevent the loss of bank credit card customers has become a growing concern for banks. Therefore, it is particularly important to establish a customer churn early warning model. In this paper, we will use the random forest method to establish a customer churn early warning model, focusing on the churn of bank credit card customers and predicting the possibility of future churn… More >

Estimation of Higher Heating Value for MSW Using DSVM and BSOA

    Jithina Jose*, T. Sasipraba

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 573-588, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.030479

Abstract In recent decades, the generation of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is steadily increasing due to urbanization and technological advancement. The collection and disposal of municipal solid waste cause considerable environmental degradation, making MSW management a global priority. Waste-to-energy (WTE) using thermochemical process has been identified as the key solution in this area. After evaluating many automated Higher Heating Value (HHV) prediction approaches, an Optimal Deep Learning-based HHV Prediction (ODL-HHVP) model for MSW management has been developed. The objective of the ODL-HHVP model is to forecast the HHV of municipal solid waste, based on its oxygen, water, hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, sulphur… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 515-527, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.030374

Abstract Business Analytics is one of the vital processes that must be incorporated into any business. It supports decision-makers in analyzing and predicting future trends based on facts (Data-driven decisions), especially when dealing with a massive amount of business data. Decision Trees are essential for business analytics to predict business opportunities and future trends that can retain corporations’ competitive advantage and survival and improve their business value. This research proposes a tree-based predictive model for business analytics. The model is developed based on ranking business features and gradient-boosted trees. For validation purposes, the model is tested on a real-world dataset of… More >

Modeling of Optimal Deep Learning Based Flood Forecasting Model Using Twitter Data

    G. Indra1,*, N. Duraipandian2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 1455-1470, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.027703

Abstract A flood is a significant damaging natural calamity that causes loss of life and property. Earlier work on the construction of flood prediction models intended to reduce risks, suggest policies, reduce mortality, and limit property damage caused by floods. The massive amount of data generated by social media platforms such as Twitter opens the door to flood analysis. Because of the real-time nature of Twitter data, some government agencies and authorities have used it to track natural catastrophe events in order to build a more rapid rescue strategy. However, due to the shorter duration of Tweets, it is difficult to… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 3235-3250, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.029604

Abstract Environmental sustainability is the rate of renewable resource harvesting, pollution control, and non-renewable resource exhaustion. Air pollution is a significant issue confronted by the environment particularly by highly populated countries like India. Due to increased population, the number of vehicles also continues to increase. Each vehicle has its individual emission rate; however, the issue arises when the emission rate crosses the standard value and the quality of the air gets degraded. Owing to the technological advances in machine learning (ML), it is possible to develop prediction approaches to monitor and control pollution using real time data. With the development of… More >

Abstract Financial crisis prediction (FCP) models are used for predicting or forecasting the financial status of a company or financial firm. It is considered a challenging issue in the financial sector. Statistical and machine learning (ML) models can be employed for the design of accurate FCP models. Though numerous works have existed in the literature, it is needed to design effective FCP models adaptable to different datasets. This study designs a new bird swarm algorithm (BSA) with fuzzy min-max neural network (FMM-NN) model, named BSA-FMMNN for FCP. The major intention of the BSA-FMMNN model is to determine the financial status of… More >
