Performance Assessment and Configuration Analysis in the Study of SCADA System (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)

    R. Vanalakshmi1, S. Maragathasundari1,*, M. Kameswari1, B. Balamurugan2, C. Swedheetha3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 1399-1419, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.038506

Abstract Queuing models are used to assess the functionality and aesthetics of SCADA systems for supervisory control and data collection. Here, the main emphasis is on how the queuing theory can be used in the system’s design and analysis. The analysis’s findings indicate that by using queuing models, cost-performance ratios close to the ideal might be attained. This article discusses a novel methodology for evaluating the service-oriented survivability of SCADA systems. In order to evaluate the state of service performance and the system’s overall resilience, the framework applies queuing theory to an analytical model. As a result, the SCADA process is… More >

Multiway Relay Based Framework for Network Coding in Multi-Hop WSNs

    Vinod Kumar Menaria1, Anand Nayyar2, Sandeep Kumar3, Ketan Kotecha4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1199-1216, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.032162

Abstract In today’s information technology (IT) world, the multi-hop wireless sensor networks (MHWSNs) are considered the building block for the Internet of Things (IoT) enabled communication systems for controlling everyday tasks of organizations and industry to provide quality of service (QoS) in a stipulated time slot to end-user over the Internet. Smart city (SC) is an example of one such application which can automate a group of civil services like automatic control of traffic lights, weather prediction, surveillance, etc., in our daily life. These IoT-based networks with multi-hop communication and multiple sink nodes provide efficient communication in terms of performance parameters… More >

FogQSYM: An Industry 4.0 Analytical Model for Fog Applications

    M. Iyapparaja1, M. Sathish Kumar1, S. Siva Rama Krishnan1, Chiranji Lal Chowdhary1, Byungun Yoon2, Saurabh Singh2, Gi Hwan Cho3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.3, pp. 3163-3178, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017302

Abstract Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth evolution of technology development, which strives to connect people to various industries in terms of achieving their expected outcomes efficiently. However, resource management in an Industry 4.0 network is very complex and challenging. To manage and provide suitable resources to each service, we propose a FogQSYM (Fog–-Queuing system) model; it is an analytical model for Fog Applications that helps divide the application into several layers, then enables the sharing of the resources in an effective way according to the availability of memory, bandwidth, and network services. It follows the Markovian queuing model that helps… More >

Blockchain Queuing Model with Non-Preemptive Limited-Priority

    Tianmu Li1,2, Yongjun Ren1,2,*, Jinyue Xia3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.5, pp. 1111-1122, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.012531

Abstract Blockchain technology has recently obtained widespread attention. And it is being regarded as potentially even more disruptive than the Internet, whose usage includes large areas of applications ranging from crypto currency, financial services, reputation system, Internet of Things, sharing economy to public and social services. The existing works of blockchain primarily are focused on key components and potential applications. However, in the existing blockchain systems, the waiting time of transactions is too long. Furthermore, it may produce serious consequences because many important transactions are not handled timely. To solve the problem, in the paper, the blockchain Queuing model with non-preemptive… More >
