    Seungwoo Kang1, Seyha Ros1, Inseok Song1, Prohim Tam1, Sa Math2, Seokhoon Kim1,3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1967-1983, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.045020

Abstract Intelligent healthcare networks represent a significant component in digital applications, where the requirements hold within quality-of-service (QoS) reliability and safeguarding privacy. This paper addresses these requirements through the integration of enabler paradigms, including federated learning (FL), cloud/edge computing, software-defined/virtualized networking infrastructure, and converged prediction algorithms. The study focuses on achieving reliability and efficiency in real-time prediction models, which depend on the interaction flows and network topology. In response to these challenges, we introduce a modified version of federated logistic regression (FLR) that takes into account convergence latencies and the accuracy of the final FL model within healthcare networks. Jauzak Hussaini Windiatmaja, Delphi Hanggoro, Muhammad Salman, Riri Fitri Sari*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 2309-2339, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.041152

Abstract This research presents a reputation-based blockchain consensus mechanism called Proof of Intelligent Reputation (PoIR) as an alternative to traditional Proof of Work (PoW). PoIR addresses the limitations of existing reputation-based consensus mechanisms by proposing a more decentralized and fair node selection process. The proposed PoIR consensus combines Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) with the Network Entity Reputation Database (NERD) to generate reputation scores for network entities and select authoritative nodes. NERD records network entity profiles based on various sources, i.e., Warden, Blacklists, DShield, AlienVault Open Threat Exchange (OTX), and MISP (Malware Information Sharing Platform). It summarizes these profile records into… More >

Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder by Imperialistic Competitive Algorithm and Logistic Regression Classifier

    Shabana R. Ziyad1,*, Liyakathunisa2, Eman Aljohani2, I. A. Saeed3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1515-1534, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.040874

Abstract Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), classified as a developmental disability, is now more common in children than ever. A drastic increase in the rate of autism spectrum disorder in children worldwide demands early detection of autism in children. Parents can seek professional help for a better prognosis of the child’s therapy when ASD is diagnosed under five years. This research study aims to develop an automated tool for diagnosing autism in children. The computer-aided diagnosis tool for ASD detection is designed and developed by a novel methodology that includes data acquisition, feature selection, and classification phases. The most deterministic features are… More >

Deep Structure Optimization for Incremental Hierarchical Fuzzy Systems Using Improved Differential Evolution Algorithm

    Yue Zhu, Tao Zhao*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1139-1158, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030178

Abstract The optimization of the rule base of a fuzzy logic system (FLS) based on evolutionary algorithm has achieved notable results. However, due to the diversity of the deep structure in the hierarchical fuzzy system (HFS) and the correlation of each sub fuzzy system, the uncertainty of the HFS's deep structure increases. For the HFS, a large number of studies mainly use fixed structures, which cannot be selected automatically. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a novel approach for constructing the incremental HFS. During system design, the deep structure and the rule base of the HFS are encoded separately. Subsequently,… More >

    Yousef Alhwaiti1,*, Muhammad Hameed Siddiqi1, Irshad Ahmad2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.3, pp. 3011-3031, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.042110

Abstract Weeds are one of the utmost damaging agricultural annoyers that have a major influence on crops. Weeds have the responsibility to get higher production costs due to the waste of crops and also have a major influence on the worldwide agricultural economy. The significance of such concern got motivation in the research community to explore the usage of technology for the detection of weeds at early stages that support farmers in agricultural fields. Some weed methods have been proposed for these fields; however, these algorithms still have challenges as they were implemented against controlled environments. Therefore, in this paper, a… More >

Retrieval of Winter Wheat Canopy Carotenoid Content with Ground- and Airborne-Based Hyperspectral Data

Ting Cui, Xianfeng Zhou*, Yufeng Huang, Yanting Guo, Yunrui Lin, Leyi Song, Jingcheng Zhang

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.9, pp. 2633-2648, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.029259

Abstract Accurate assessment of canopy carotenoid content (CCx+cC) in crops is central to monitor physiological conditions in plants and vegetation stress, and consequently supporting agronomic decisions. However, due to the overlap of absorption peaks of carotenoid (Cx+c) and chlorophyll (Ca), accurate estimation of carotenoid using reflectance where carotenoid absorb is challenging. The objective of present study was to assess CCx+cC in winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with ground- and aircraft-based hyperspectral measurements in the visible and near-infrared spectrum. In-situ hyperspectral reflectance were measured and airborne hyperspectral data were acquired during major growth stages of winter wheat in five consecutive field experiments.… More >

    Jiali Wang1, Bing Li2, Chengyu Qiu1, Xinyun Zhang1, Yuting Cheng1, Peihua Wang1, Ta Zhou3, Hong Ge2, Yuanpeng Zhang1,3,*, Jing Cai3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.3, pp. 4843-4866, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.037457

Abstract Epilepsy is a central nervous system disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal. Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, as recordings of brain activity, have been widely used for epilepsy recognition. To study epileptic EEG signals and develop artificial intelligence (AI)-assist recognition, a multi-view transfer learning (MVTL-LSR) algorithm based on least squares regression is proposed in this study. Compared with most existing multi-view transfer learning algorithms, MVTL-LSR has two merits: (1) Since traditional transfer learning algorithms leverage knowledge from different sources, which poses a significant risk to data privacy. Therefore, we develop a knowledge transfer mechanism that can protect the security of source… More >
