Feature Selection Based on Distance Measurement

    Mingming Yang*, Junchuan Yang

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.1, pp. 19-27, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.018267

Abstract Every day we receive a large amount of information through different social media and software, and this data and information can be realized with the advent of data mining methods. In the process of data mining, to solve some high-dimensional problems, feature selection is carried out in limited training samples, and effective features are selected. This paper focuses on two Relief feature selection algorithms: Relief and ReliefF algorithm. The differences between them and their respective applicable scopes are analyzed. Based on Relief algorithm, the high weight feature subset is obtained, and the correlation between features is calculated according to the… More >

RP-NBSR: A Novel Network Attack Detection Model Based on Machine Learning

    Zihao Shen1,2, Hui Wang1,*, Kun Liu1, Peiqian Liu1, Menglong Ba1, MengYao Zhao3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.37, No.1, pp. 121-133, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.014988

Abstract The rapid progress of the Internet has exposed networks to an increased number of threats. Intrusion detection technology can effectively protect network security against malicious attacks. In this paper, we propose a ReliefF-P-Naive Bayes and softmax regression (RP-NBSR) model based on machine learning for network attack detection to improve the false detection rate and F1 score of unknown intrusion behavior. In the proposed model, the Pearson correlation coefficient is introduced to compensate for deficiencies in correlation analysis between features by the ReliefF feature selection algorithm, and a ReliefF-Pearson correlation coefficient (ReliefF-P) algorithm is proposed. Then, the Relief-P algorithm is used… More >

Ontology-Supported Double-Level Model Construction for International Disaster Medical Relief Resource Forecasting

    Min Zhu1,2,3,#, Huiyu Jin1,#, Ruxue Chen1, Quanyi Huang2,3, Shaobo Zhong4, Guang Tian1,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.5, pp. 1097-1109, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.010140

Abstract In a disaster, mass casualties lead to a surge in demand for medical services. Some relief actions have been criticized for being ill-adapted to dominating medical needs. This research established a disaster medical relief planning model in 3 steps. 1. Establishing the two-level conceptual model. 2. Using the ontology method to describe the hierarchy and relating rules of the terms and concepts associated with the model. 3. Using an ontology-support casebased reasoning approach to build the case similarity matching process, which can provide a more efficient system for decision support. A case study validated the model and demonstrated its usage. More >

Air Quality Prediction Based on Kohonen Clustering and ReliefF Feature Selection

    Bolun Chen1, 2, Guochang Zhu1, *, Min Ji1, Yongtao Yu1, Jianyang Zhao1, Wei Liu3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.2, pp. 1039-1049, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010583

Abstract Air quality prediction is an important part of environmental governance. The accuracy of the air quality prediction also affects the planning of people’s outdoor activities. How to mine effective information from historical data of air pollution and reduce unimportant factors to predict the law of pollution change is of great significance for pollution prevention, pollution control and pollution early warning. In this paper, we take into account that there are different trends in air pollutants and that different climatic factors have different effects on air pollutants. Firstly, the data of air pollutants in different cities are collected by a sliding… More >

The Mediating Role of Job Satisfaction in the Relationship between Disaster Relief Workers’ Perception of Survivors’ Rights and Their Performance of Human Rights Advocacy

    Yun-Jung Choi#, Eunjung Ko#,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.22, No.1, pp. 19-27, 2020, DOI:10.32604/IJMHP.2020.010883

Abstract This study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of disaster relief workers’ job satisfaction in the relationship between their perception of survivors’ rights and their performance of human rights advocacy. Two hundred disaster relief workers in Korea were invited to complete structured questionnaires pertaining to their perception of survivors’ rights, job satisfaction, and their performance of human rights advocacy, and the relationships between these variables were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression analysis. There were significant positive correlations between disaster relief workers’ perception of survivors’ rights, job satisfaction, and performance of human rights advocacy in this study. The higher their… More >

A Method for the Detection of the Distance & Orientation of the Relief Well to a Blowout Well in Offshore Drilling

    Cui Li1, Deli Gao1, Zhiyong Wu1, Binbin Diao1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.89, No.1, pp. 39-56, 2012, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2012.089.039

Abstract At present, a relief well is the most reliable method to control serious blowout accidents, and it is necessary to detect very accurately the relative position of the relief well and the blowout well. The detection tool should be capable of detecting directly the relative distance and direction between the relief well and the blowout well. Its detection accuracy should also meet the engineering demand of drilling a relief well. Using the working principle of a proposed detection tool, this paper analyzes the spread and attenuation laws of the current injected by a single-electrode or three-electrode array in the relief… More >
