Abstract In recent years, water collecting systems, with the associated advantages of energy saving and noise reduction, have become the foundation for the development of a scheme to optimize the structure of cooling towers. To explore the feasibility of this approach for mechanical draft cooling towers, a small-scale experimental device has been built to study the resistance and splash performances of three U-type water collecting devices (WCDs) for different water flow rates and wind speeds. The experimental results show that within the considered ranges of wind speed and water flow rate, the pressure drop of the different WCDs can vary significantly.… More > Graphic Abstract

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.3, pp. 591-604, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.017790

Abstract Nowadays, waterborne polyurethanes (WPUs) prepared from renewable resources has attracted more and more attention. However, due to its structure, the prepared films easily swells in water and greatly affects the application range of WPUs. Therefore, solving the problem of water resistance is a way to improve the application range of WPUs. In this study, a series of WPU dispersions were prepared using castor oil as the bio-based polyol. Besides, the thiol-ene photo click reaction was carried out on the WPU films for silane modification. The effect of the silane modification on the chemical structures of the WPU dispersions and the… More > Graphic Abstract

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.5, No.1, pp. 7-14, 2008, DOI:10.3970/icces.2008.005.007

Abstract An 11.8m-long gliding-hydrofoil craft with a T-formed hydrofoil and shallow V-shaped bottom is chosen to carry on in this work. Resistance test in towering tank is the main method. Two different installation angle (-1.5° and 0° ) of hydrofoil are conducted and the tests were done separately. Relevant results of different resistance performance have been got under the influence of different hydrofoil installation angle. More >
