    A. Daniel*, K.M. Baalamurugan, Vijay Ramalingam, KP Arjun

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.29, No.1, pp. 233-246, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016405

Abstract The Internet of Things (IoT) and the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) concepts are currently combined to improve data transmission based on sensors in near future applications. Since IoT devices exist in WSN with built-in batteries, power efficiency is a challenge that must be resolved. Clustering and routing are effectively treated as methods for reducing the dissipation of energy and maximising WSN IoT support life. This paper presents the new Energy Aware Adaptive Fuzzy neuro clustering with the WSN assisted IoT algorithm EAANFC-MR. EAANFC-MR is proposed for two main stages, clustering and multihop routing on the basis of EAANFCs. For selecting… More >

    Haijun Geng1, Qidong Zhang1, Jiangyuan Yao2,*, Wei Wang1, Zikun Jin1, Han Zhang3, Yangyang Zhang4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.2, pp. 2029-2039, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016368

Abstract A reduction in network energy consumption and the establishment of green networks have become key scientific problems in academic and industrial research. Existing energy efficiency schemes are based on a known traffic matrix, and acquiring a real-time traffic matrix in current complex networks is difficult. Therefore, this research investigates how to reduce network energy consumption without a real-time traffic matrix. In particular, this paper proposes an intra-domain energy-efficient routing scheme based on multipath routing. It analyzes the relationship between routing availability and energy-efficient routing and integrates the two mechanisms to satisfy the requirements of availability and energy efficiency. The main… More >

Parametric Evaluation of Routing Algorithms in Network on Chip Architecture

    Mohammad Behrouzian Nejad

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.35, No.5, pp. 367-375, 2020, DOI:10.32604/csse.2020.35.367

Abstract Considering that routing algorithms for the Network on Chip (NoC) architecture is one of the key issues that determine its ultimate performance, several things have to be considered for developing new routing algorithms. This includes examining the strengths, capabilities, and weaknesses of the commonly proposed algorithms as a starting point for developing new ones.
Because most of the algorithms presented are based on the well-known algorithms that are studied and evaluated in this research. Finally, according to the results produced under different conditions, better decisions can be made when using the aforementioned algorithms as well as when presenting new routing… More >

Energy Aware Routing Algorithm in Manet Using Linear Programming

    Hany Ramadan1,∗, Ben Bella S. Tawfik2, Alaa El Din M. Riad3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.33, No.6, pp. 421-428, 2018, DOI:10.32604/csse.2018.33.421

Abstract Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are wireless network without infrastructure and suffering from low power battery. Therefore the main objective in finding a route for traffic transfer from a given source to a given destination is to minimize the node energy consumption. This paper solves the problem of finding a route satisfying the main objective of minimum energy consumption and other QoS requirements such as minimum delay and maximum packet delivery ratio by using linear programming technique. Two cases are considered: 1. The traffic amount of a given request is transmitted into single path, and 2. The traffic amount of… More >

Prophet_TD Routing Algorithm Based on Historical Throughput and Encounter Duration

    Jingjian Chen1, Gang Xu1, *, Fengqi Wei1, Liqiang He2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.3, pp. 1845-1858, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010010

Abstract Opportunistic networks are self-organizing networks that do not require a complete path between the source node and the destination node as it uses encounter opportunities brought by nodes movement to achieve network communication. Opportunistic networks routing algorithms are numerous and can be roughly divided into four categories based on different forwarding strategies. The Prophet routing algorithm is an important routing algorithm in opportunistic networks. It forwards messages based on the encounter probability between nodes, and has good innovation significance and optimization potential. However, the Prophet routing algorithm does not consider the impact of the historical throughput of the node on… More >

A Nonuniform Clustering Routing Algorithm Based on an Improved K-Means Algorithm

    Xinliang Tang1, Man Zhang1, Pingping Yu1, Wei Liu2, Ning Cao3, *, Yunfeng Xu4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.3, pp. 1725-1739, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010272

Abstract In a large-scale wireless sensor network (WSN), densely distributed sensor nodes process a large amount of data. The aggregation of data in a network can consume a great amount of energy. To balance and reduce the energy consumption of nodes in a WSN and extend the network life, this paper proposes a nonuniform clustering routing algorithm based on the improved K-means algorithm. The algorithm uses a clustering method to form and optimize clusters, and it selects appropriate cluster heads to balance network energy consumption and extend the life cycle of the WSN. To ensure that the cluster head (CH) selection… More >
