    Revolutionizing Tight Reservoir Production: A Novel Dual-Medium Unsteady Seepage Model for Optimizing Volumetrically Fractured Horizontal Wells

    Abstract This study presents an avant-garde approach for predicting and optimizing production in tight reservoirs, employing a dual-medium unsteady seepage model specifically fashioned for volumetrically fractured horizontal wells. Traditional models often fail to fully capture the complex dynamics associated with these unconventional reservoirs. In a significant departure from these models, our approach incorporates an initiation pressure gradient and a discrete fracture seepage network, providing a more realistic representation of the seepage process.     Chronic stress effects on the apoptotic index of the adrenal cortex of pregnant rats

    Abstract Chronic stress by immobilization during gestation can alter several mechanisms that maintain homeostasis in adrenal gland. The aim of this work was to quantify the apoptotic index of adrenal cortex during mid-pregnancy and to prove cytological characteristics by electron microscopy. The apoptotic index did not present significant differences between the adrenal cortex areas of control and experimental rats in any of the three ages studied. The day of gestation influenced significantly on the apoptotic index in both groups. This index increased as gestation progressed.     Abstract In this study, two/three-dimensional computational grains are developed for micromechanical modeling of heterogeneous materials with nanoscale inhomogeneities, considering the interface stress effect. Two types of computational grains are developed, depending on the types of inhomogeneity in each element.
