An Auto-Grading Oriented Approach for Off-Line Handwritten Organic Cyclic Compound Structure Formulas Recognition

Ting Zhang, Yifei Wang, Xinxin Jin, Zhiwen Gu, Xiaoliang Zhang, Bin He*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.3, pp. 2267-2285, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.023229

Abstract Auto-grading, as an instruction tool, could reduce teachers’ workload, provide students with instant feedback and support highly personalized learning. Therefore, this topic attracts considerable attentions from researchers recently. To realize the automatic grading of handwritten chemistry assignments, the problem of chemical notations recognition should be solved first. The recent handwritten chemical notations recognition solutions belonging to the end-to-end trainable category suffered from the problem of lacking the accurate alignment information between the input and output. They serve the aim of reading notations into electrical devices to better prepare relevant e-documents instead of auto-grading handwritten assignments. To tackle this limitation to… More >

A Review of Electromagnetic Energy Regenerative Suspension System & Key Technologies

Changzhong Fu, Jiayu Lu*, Wenqing Ge, Cao Tan, Bo Li

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.3, pp. 1779-1824, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.023092

Abstract The active suspension has undoubtedly improved the performance of the vehicle, however, the trend of “lowcarbonization, intelligence, and informationization” in the automotive industry has put forward higher and more urgent requirements for the suspension system. The automotive industry and researchers favor active energy regeneration suspension technology with safety, comfort, and high energy regenerative efficiency. In this paper, we review the research progress of the structure form, optimization method, and control strategy of electromagnetic energy regenerative suspension. Specifically, comparing the pros and cons of the existing technology in solving the contradiction between dynamic performance and energy regeneration. In addition, the development… More > Graphic Abstract

Mechanical Properties and Evolution of Microstructure of Cement Stabilized Loess

    Kangze Yuan1, Kui Liu1,2,*, Guoyang Yi3, Bowen Yang2

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.12, pp. 3611-3627, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.022458

Abstract Cement Stabilized Loess (CSL) sample has a long history as a method of improving building foundations. In this paper, the main physical (specific gravity, consistency limit, optimum moisture content, and maximum dry density) and mechanical properties (Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) and shear strength parameters) of CSL samples with different cement content were investigated, and the change reasons were explored by mean of SEM test. Meanwhile, quantitative analysis software Image-Pro Plus (IPP) 6.0 was used to characterize the microstructural evolution of pores in compacted loess and CSL sample. As the cement content increased, the specific gravity and optimum water content in… More > Graphic Abstract

Thermodynamic Simulation on the Change in Phase for Carburizing Process

Anh Tuan Hoang1, Xuan Phuong Nguyen2, Osamah Ibrahim Khalaf3, Thi Xuan Tran4, Minh Quang Chau5, Thi Minh Hao Dong2, Duong Nam Nguyen6,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 1129-1145, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015349

Abstract The type of technology used to strengthen the surface structure of machine parts, typically by carbon-permeation, has made a great contribution to the mechanical engineering industry because of its outstanding advantages in corrosion resistance and enhanced mechanical and physical properties. Furthermore, carbon permeation is considered as an optimal method of heat treatment through the diffusion of carbon atoms into the surface of alloy steel. This study presented research results on the thermodynamic calculation and simulation of the carbon permeability process. Applying Fick’s law, the paper calculated the distribution of carbon concentration in the alloy steel after it is absorbed from… More >
