    Zhonghai Jiang1, Qian Wang1, Liangbing Zhou2,*, Chun Xiao3

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.6, pp. 1693-1708, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.025270

Abstract A two-layer implicit difference scheme is employed in the present study to determine the temperature distribution in an asphalt pavement. The calculation of each layer only needs four iterations to achieve convergence. Furthermore, in order to improve the calculation accuracy a swarm intelligence optimization algorithm is also exploited to inversely analyze the laws by which the thermal physical parameters of the asphalt pavement materials change with temperature. Using the basic cuckoo and the gray wolf algorithms, an adaptive hybrid optimization algorithm is obtained and used to determine the relationship between the thermal diffusivity of two More >

Energy Proficient Reduced Coverage Set with Particle Swarm Optimization for Distributed Sensor Network

    T. V. Chithra1,*, A. Milton2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 1611-1623, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.026561

Abstract Retransmission avoidance is an essential need for any type of wireless communication. As retransmissions induce the unnecessary presence of redundant data in every accessible node. As storage capacity is symmetrical to the size of the memory, less storage capacity is experienced due to the restricted size of the respective node. In this proposed work, we have discussed the integration of the Energy Proficient Reduced Coverage Set with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). PSO is a metaheuristic global search enhancement technique that promotes the searching of the best nodes in the search space. PSO is integrated with More >

    S. A. Arunmozhi*, S. Rajeswari, Y. Venkataramani

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.3, pp. 2337-2347, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.024340

Abstract Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) possesses unique characteristics which makes it vulnerable to security threats. In MANET, it is highly challenging to protect the nodes from cyberattacks. Power conservation improves both life time of nodes as well as the network. Computational capabilities and memory constraints are critical issues in the implementation of cryptographic techniques. Energy and security are two important factors that need to be considered for improving the performance of MANET. So, the incorporation of an energy efficient secure routing protocol becomes inevitable to ensure appropriate action upon the network. The nodes present in More >

    Ali Abdullah Hassan1,*, Salwani Abdullah1, Kamal Z. Zamli2, Rozilawati Razali1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 2057-2077, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.026310

Abstract Much of our daily tasks have been computerized by machines and sensors communicating with each other in real-time. There is a reasonable risk that something could go wrong because there are a lot of sensors producing a lot of data. Combinatorial testing (CT) can be used in this case to reduce risks and ensure conformance to specifications. Numerous existing meta-heuristic-based solutions aim to assist the test suite generation for combinatorial testing, also known as t-way testing (where t indicates the interaction strength), viewed as an optimization problem. Much previous research, while helpful, only investigated a small… More >

Abstract The alignment operation between many protein sequences or DNA sequences related to the scientific bioinformatics application is very complex. There is a trade-off in the objectives in the existing techniques of Multiple Sequence Alignment (MSA). The techniques that concern with speed ignore accuracy, whereas techniques that concern with accuracy ignore speed. The term alignment means to get the similarity in different sequences with high accuracy. The more growing number of sequences leads to a very complex and complicated problem. Because of the emergence; rapid development; and dependence on gene sequencing, sequence alignment has become important… More >
