Abstract Protecting the integrity and secrecy of digital data transmitted through the internet is a growing problem. In this paper, we introduce an asymmetric key algorithm for specifically processing images with larger bit values. To overcome the separate flaws of elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and the Hill cipher (HC), we present an approach to picture encryption by combining these two encryption approaches. In addition, to strengthen our scheme, the group laws are defined over the rational points of a given elliptic curve (EC) over a Galois field (GF). The exclusive-or (XOR) function is used instead of matrix multiplication to encrypt and… More >

Split-n-Swap: A New Modification of the Twofish Block Cipher Algorithm

    Awny Sayed1,2, Maha Mahrous3, Enas Elgeldawi1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1723-1734, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.032838

Abstract Securing digital data from unauthorized access throughout its entire lifecycle has been always a critical concern. A robust data security system should protect the information assets of any organization against cybercriminal activities. The Twofish algorithm is one of the well-known symmetric key block cipher cryptographic algorithms and has been known for its rapid convergence. But when it comes to security, it is not the preferred cryptographic algorithm to use compared to other algorithms that have shown better security. Many applications and social platforms have adopted other symmetric key block cipher cryptographic algorithms such as the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm… More >

Triple Key Security Algorithm Against Single Key Attack on Multiple Rounds

Muhammad Akram1, Muhammad Waseem Iqbal2,*, Syed Ashraf Ali3, Muhammad Usman Ashraf4, Khalid Alsubhi5, Hani Moaiteq Aljahdali6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.3, pp. 6061-6077, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.028272

Abstract In cipher algorithms, the encryption and decryption are based on the same key. There are some limitations in cipher algorithms, for example in polyalphabetic substitution cipher the key size must be equal to plaintext otherwise it will be repeated and if the key is known then encryption becomes useless. This paper aims to improve the said limitations by designing of Triple key security algorithm (TKS) in which the key is modified on polyalphabetic substitution cipher to maintain the size of the key and plaintext. Each plaintext character is substituted by an alternative message. The mode of substitution is transformed cyclically… More >

Dynamic Encryption and Secure Transmission of Terminal Data Files

    Ruchun Jia1,*, Yang Xin2, Bo Liu3, Qin Qin4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 1221-1232, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019318

Abstract Data is the last defense line of security, in order to prevent data loss, no matter where the data is stored, copied or transmitted, it is necessary to accurately detect the data type, and further clarify the form and encryption structure of the data transmission process to ensure the accuracy of the data, so as to prevent data leakage, take the data characteristics as the core, use transparent encryption and decryption technology as the leading, and According to the data element characteristics such as identity authentication, authority management, outgoing management, file audit and external device management, the terminal data is… More >
