A Parallel Approach for Sentiment Analysis on Social Networks Using Spark

    M. Mohamed Iqbal1,*, K. Latha2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 1831-1842, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.029036

Abstract The public is increasingly using social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook to express their views on a variety of topics. As a result, social media has emerged as the most effective and largest open source for obtaining public opinion. Single node computational methods are inefficient for sentiment analysis on such large datasets. Supercomputers or parallel or distributed processing are two options for dealing with such large amounts of data. Most parallel programming frameworks, such as MPI (Message Processing Interface), are difficult to use and scale in environments where supercomputers are expensive. Using the Apache Spark Parallel Model, this… More >

Depression Detection on COVID 19 Tweets Using Chimp Optimization Algorithm

    R. Meena1,*, V. Thulasi Bai2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.3, pp. 1643-1658, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.025305

Abstract The Covid-19 outbreak has an unprecedented effects on people's daily lives throughout the world, causing immense stress amongst individuals owing to enhanced psychological disorders like depression, stress, and anxiety. Researchers have used social media data to detect behaviour changes in individuals with depression, postpartum changes and stress detection since it reveals critical aspects of mental and emotional diseases. Considerable efforts have been made to examine the psychological health of people which have limited performance in accuracy and demand increased training time. To conquer such issues, this paper proposes an efficient depression detection framework named Improved Chimp Optimization Algorithm based Convolution… More >

Course Evaluation Based on Deep Learning and SSA Hyperparameters Optimization

Alaa A. El-Demerdash, Sherif E. Hussein, John FW Zaki*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 941-959, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021839

Abstract Sentiment analysis attracts the attention of Egyptian Decision-makers in the education sector. It offers a viable method to assess education quality services based on the students’ feedback as well as that provides an understanding of their needs. As machine learning techniques offer automated strategies to process big data derived from social media and other digital channels, this research uses a dataset for tweets' sentiments to assess a few machine learning techniques. After dataset preprocessing to remove symbols, necessary stemming and lemmatization is performed for features extraction. This is followed by several machine learning techniques and a proposed Long Short-Term Memory… More >

    Chinu Singla1, Fahd N. Al-Wesabi2,3, Yash Singh Pathania1, Badria Sulaiman Alfurhood4, Anwer Mustafa Hilal5,*, Mohammed Rizwanullah5, Manar Ahmed Hamza5, Mohammad Mahzari6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 6365-6380, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020480

Abstract The task of automatically analyzing sentiments from a tweet has more use now than ever due to the spectrum of emotions expressed from national leaders to the average man. Analyzing this data can be critical for any organization. Sentiments are often expressed with different intensity and topics which can provide great insight into how something affects society. Sentiment analysis in Twitter mitigates the various issues of analyzing the tweets in terms of views expressed and several approaches have already been proposed for sentiment analysis in twitter. Resources used for analyzing tweet emotions are also briefly presented in literature survey section.… More >

    Abeer A. AlFutamani, Heyam H. Al-Baity*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.29, No.1, pp. 89-109, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016555

Abstract Social media sites produce a large amount of data and offer a highly competitive advantage for companies when they can benefit from and address data, as data provides a deeper understanding of clients and their needs. This understanding of clients helps in effectively making the correct decisions within the company, based on data obtained from social media websites. Thus, sentiment analysis has become a key tool for understanding that data. Sentiment analysis is a research area that focuses on analyzing people’s emotions and opinions to identify the polarity (e.g., positive or negative) of a given text. Since we need to… More >
