Enhancing Military Visual Communication in Harsh Environments Using Computer Vision Techniques

    Shitharth Selvarajan1,2,3,*, Hariprasath Manoharan4, Taher Al-Shehari5, Nasser A Alsadhan6, Subhav Singh7,8

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.84, No.2, pp. 3541-3557, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.064394 - 03 July 2025

Abstract This research investigates the application of digital images in military contexts by utilizing analytical equations to augment human visual capabilities. A comparable filter is used to improve the visual quality of the photographs by reducing truncations in the existing images. Furthermore, the collected images undergo processing using histogram gradients and a flexible threshold value that may be adjusted in specific situations. Thus, it is possible to reduce the occurrence of overlapping circumstances in collective picture characteristics by substituting grey-scale photos with colorized factors. The proposed method offers additional robust feature representations by imposing a limiting More >

View Types and Visual Communication Cues for Remote Collaboration

    Seungwon Kim1, Weidong Huang2, Chi-Min Oh3, Gun Lee4, Mark Billinghurst4, Sang-Joon Lee5,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.2, pp. 4363-4379, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.034209 - 31 October 2022

Abstract Over the last several years, remote collaboration has been getting more attention in the research community because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In previous studies, researchers have investigated the effect of adding visual communication cues or shared views in collaboration, but there has not been any previous study exploring the influence between them. In this paper, we investigate the influence of view types on the use of visual communication cues. We compared the use of the three visual cues (hand gesture, a pointer with hand gesture, and sketches with hand gesture) across two view types (dependent… More >

The Application of Folk Art with Virtual Reality Technology in Visual Communication

    Rui Zhang1, Xiaoxiong Zhao2,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.4, pp. 783-793, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.010113

Abstract At the end of the 20th century, the emergence and development of virtual reality display methods based on virtual reality technology is one of the most remarkable achievements in the field of digital design. In the late 20th century, rapidly developing virtual reality technology was gradually combined with computer multimedia display technology, and emerging digital information display means thus quickly became widely used in the design field. In today's information multimedia display field, multimedia display design using virtual reality technology has become one of the most important means of information display. In fact, in many More >
