    Jiao Ge1,2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.013039

Abstract With the rapid development of medical informatization and the popularization of digital imaging equipment, DICOM images contain the personal privacy of patients, and there are security risks in the process of storage and transmission, so it needs to be encrypted. In order to solve the security problem of medical images on mobile devices, a safe and efficient medical image encryption algorithm called ALCencryption is designed. The algorithm first analyzes the medical image and distinguishes the color image from the gray image. For gray images, the improved Arnold map is used to scramble them according to the optimal number of iterations,… More >

A Fast Product of Conditional Reduction Method for System Failure Probability Sensitivity Evaluation

    Jie Yang1,2, Changping Chen1,2,*, Ao Ma1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.09640

Abstract System reliability sensitivity analysis becomes difficult due to involving the issues of the correlation between failure modes whether using analytic method or numerical simulation methods. A fast conditional reduction method based on conditional probability theory is proposed to solve the sensitivity analysis based on the approximate analytic method. The relevant concepts are introduced to characterize the correlation between failure modes by the reliability index and correlation coefficient, and conditional normal fractile the for the multi-dimensional conditional failure analysis is proposed based on the two-dimensional normal distribution function. Thus the calculation of system failure probability can be represented as a summation… More >

Sensitivity of Sample for Simulation-Based Reliability Analysis Methods

    Xiukai Yuan1,2,*, Jian Gu1, Shaolong Liu1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.010482

Abstract In structural reliability analysis, simulation methods are widely used. The statistical characteristics of failure probability estimate of these methods have been well investigated. In this study, the sensitivities of the failure probability estimate and its statistical characteristics with regard to sample, called ‘contribution indexes’, are proposed to measure the contribution of sample. The contribution indexes in four widely simulation methods, i.e., Monte Carlo simulation (MCS), importance sampling (IS), line sampling (LS) and subset simulation (SS) are derived and analyzed. The proposed contribution indexes of sample can provide valuable information understanding the methods deeply, and enlighten potential improvement of methods. It… More >

    Meenu Gupta1, Rachna Jain2, Akash Gupta2,*, Kunal Jain2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.012467

Abstract The spread of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has already taken on pandemic extents, inuencing even more than 200 nations in a couple of months. Although, regulation measures in China have decreased new cases by over 98%, this decrease is not the situation everywhere, and most of the countries still have been affected by it. The objective of this research work is to make a comparative analysis of the top 5 most populated countries namely United States, India, China, Pakistan and Indonesia, from 1st January 2020 to 31st July 2020. This research work also targets to predict… More >

Predictive Models for Cumulative Confirmed COVID-19 Cases by Day in Southeast Asia

    Yupaporn Areepong1, Rapin Sunthornwat2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.012323

Abstract Coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak has spread as a pandemic since the end of year 2019. This situation has been causing a lot of problems of human beings such as economic problems, health problems. The forecasting of the number of infectious people is required by the authorities of all countries including Southeast Asian countries to make a decision and control the outbreak. This research is to investigate the suitable forecasting model for the number of infectious people in Southeast Asian countries. A comparison of forecasting models between logistic growth curve which is symmetric and Gompertz growth curve which is asymmetric based… More >

Analysis of a Water-Inrush Disaster Caused by Coal Seam Subsidence Karst Collapse Column under the Action of Multi-Field Coupling in Taoyuan Coal Mine

    Zhibin Lin1, Boyang Zhang1,2,*, Jiaqi Guo1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.011556

Abstract Minin-induced water inrush from a confined aquifer due to subsided floor karst collapse column (SKCC) is a type of serious disaster in the underground coal extraction. Karst collapse column (KCC) developed in a confined aquifer occurs widely throughout northern China. A water inrush disaster from SKCC occurred in Taoyuan coal mine on February 3, 2013. In order to analyze the effect of the KCC influence zone’s (KCCIZ) width and the entry driving distance of the water inrush through the fractured channels of the SKCC, the stress, seepage, and impact dynamics coupling equations were used to model the seepage rule, and… More >

    Weiwen Kong1, Baowei Wang1,2,3,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.012818

Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) is a network that connects things in a special union. It embeds a physical entity through an intelligent perception system to obtain information about the component at any time. It connects various objects. IoT has the ability of information transmission, information perception, andinformationprocessing.Theairqualityforecastinghasalways been an urgent problem, which affects people’s quality of life seriously. So far, many air quality prediction algorithms have been proposed, which can be mainly classifed into two categories. One is regression-based prediction, the other is deep learning-based prediction. Regression-based prediction is aimed to make use of the classical regression algorithm and the various… More >

    Ting Zang1, Dongbin Zhu2,*, Guowang Mu1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.09965

Abstract According to the requirement of heterogeneous object modeling in additive manufacturing (AM), the Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline (NURBS) method has been applied to the digital representation of heterogeneous object in this paper. By putting forward the NURBS material data structure and establishing heterogeneous NURBS object model, the accurate mathematical unified representation of analytical and free heterogeneous objects have been realized. With the inverse modeling of heterogeneous NURBS objects, the geometry and material distribution can be better designed to meet the actual needs. Radical Basis Function (RBF) method based on global surface reconstruction and the tensor product surface interpolation method are combined… More >

Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of Ice-Adhesion Transmission Tower-Line System under Effect of Wind-Induced Ice Shedding

    Yongping Yu1, Lihui Chen1, Juanjuan Wang1, Guoji Liu2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.011067

Abstract The tower line system will be in an unsafe status due to uniform or uneven fall of ice coating which is attached to the surface of tower and lines. The fall of ice could be caused by wind action or thermal force. In order to study the dynamic characteristics of the self-failure of the transmission line under the action of dynamic wind load, a finite element model of the two-span transmission tower line system was established. The birth and death element methods are used to simulate the icing and shedding of the line. Tensile failure strength is the shedding criterion… More >
