La démocratie en santé met en avant le respect des droits individuels et des droits collectifs des usagers du système de santé. Elle connaît un essor depuis une dizaine d’années avec des actions de plus en plus nombreuses et une règlementation qui a évolué. Qu’en est-il de la participation des patients et des proches dans le système de santé depuis la loi Kouchner de 2002 et précisément dans le champ de la cancérologie ? Si leur implication semble représenter un levier de la démocratie en santé, comment penser ou faire avec ces nouvelles figures actrices de leur santé et de la santé ? Le présent numéro vise à apporter une réflexion en lien avec ces questions et à proposer un état de l’avancée sur la démocratie en santé. Ce numéro a été coordonné par Sabine Dutheil, Marie-Frédérique Bacqué et Kristopher Lamore et ce fut également l’occasion de mettre en place un partenariat entre des personnes ayant des expériences variées en tant que clinicien, patiente partenaire et chercheur.
Democracy in healthcare focuses on respect for the individual and collective rights of healthcare system users. Over the last ten years or so, it has been gaining ground, with an ever-increasing number of initiatives and evolving regulations. What has become of the participation of patients and their families in the healthcare system since the 2002 Kouchner law, and specifically in the field of oncology? If their involvement seems to represent a lever for healthcare democracy, how can we think about or deal with these new figures who are actors in their own health and in healthcare? The aim of this issue is to provide some food for thought on these questions, and to offer an update on the state of the art in healthcare democracy. This issue was coordinated by Sabine Dutheil, Marie-Frédérique Bacqué and Kristopher Lamore, and was also an opportunity to set up a partnership between people with varied experience as clinicians, patient partners and researchers.
