    Hongwang Zhao1, *, Yuanhua Chen1, Xiaogang Liu2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.15, No.4, pp. 293-305, 2019, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2019.08361

Abstract In order to ensure that the lithium-ion battery pack keeps good working performance during the driving of electric vehicle, the heat generation mechanism and heat transfer characteristics of lithium-ion battery are analyzed. The power battery pack of electric vehicle is simulated by advanced vehicle simulator. The simulation results of battery pack current under typical cycle conditions and the heat source curve of lithium ion battery are obtained, which provide data for the simulation of heat source input of battery temperature field. On this basis, the flow field and temperature fiel d of the original… More >

A Hybrid Approach of TLBO and EBPNN for Crop Yield Prediction Using Spatial Feature Vectors

    Preeti Tiwari1, *, Piyush Shukla1

    Journal on Artificial Intelligence, Vol.1, No.2, pp. 45-58, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jai.2019.04444

Abstract The prediction of crop yield is one of the important factor and also challenging, to predict the future crop yield based on various criteria’s. Many advanced technologies are incorporated in the agricultural processes, which enhances the crop yield production efficiency. The process of predicting the crop yield can be done by taking agriculture data, which helps to analyze and make important decisions before and during cultivation. This paper focuses on the prediction of crop yield, where two models of machine learning are developed for this work. One is Modified Convolutional Neural Network (MCNN), and the… More >

Study on Thermal Insulation Performance of Cross-Laminated Bamboo Wall

    Qingfang Lv1,*, Weiyang Wang1, Ye Liu1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.11, pp. 1231-1250, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.08345

Abstract In recent years, bamboo, as a green building material, has attracted more and more attention worldwide. Inspired by the investigation of cross-laminated timber in structural systems, a new engineered cross-laminated bamboo (CLB) consisting of the cross lamination of bamboo scrimber plates is proposed in this paper. To evaluate its potential in structural applications, the thermal insulation performances of the CLB walls and CLB walls with the EPS foam plate were studied and evaluated by the temperature-controlled box-heat flow meter method. Test results indicated that the thermal insulation performance improved with the increase of thickness, but More >

Systematically Monitoring, Relational Database and Technology Roadmapping for Trends and Innovation Opportunities in Biopolymers

    Selma B. Jaconis1,*, Augusto T. Morita2, Paulo L. A. Coutinho3, Suzana Borschiver1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.11, pp. 1221-1230, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.00025 - 14 July 2021

Abstract In recent years environmental and sustainability concerns have impacted the global chemical industry and instituted a rush to produce products from renewable raw materials. This dynamic, complex and turbulent organizational scenario, around themes touching on the issue of sustainable development model, was created involving a large number of different actors: chemical/petrochemical industries, agroindustry companies, oil/gas companies, brand owners and end users, biotechnology startups, governments, universities and society. This paper proposed the application of a structured and dynamic method of technological prediction for biopolymers in three levels: systematic monitoring process, relational database and the “alive” Technology More >

Extraction, Optical Properties and Bio-Imaging of Fluorescent Composition From Moso Bamboo Shoots

    Jinlai Yang1,2,3, Liangru Wu1,2,3,*, Yanhong Pan1,2,3, Hao Zhong1,2,3

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.11, pp. 1209-1219, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.07896

Abstract A novel fluorescent composition was firstly isolated from natural winter fresh Moso bamboo shoots, and its optical properties were fully investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy. It could emit strong blue light both in solid and solution state, providing high fluorescence intensity in ethanol. The solution’s concentration and addition of water greatly affected the fluorescence intensity, high concentration and addition of much water could quench fluorescence. Apoptosis results showed that the fluorescent extract (0-25 mg/L) could not induce apoptosis of Hela cells. Confocal fluorescent microscopic imaging in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells (HepG2) was realized using the fluorescent More >

Comparison of Dilute Organic Acid Pretreatment and a Comprehensive Exploration of Citric Acid Pretreatment on Corn Cob

    Hui Qiao1, Jingzhao Cui1, Shuiping Ouyang1, Jinjie Shi2, Jia Ouyang1,3,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.11, pp. 1197-1207, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.07735

Abstract As an important agricultural waste, corn cob is one of the most abundant lignocellulosic biomass. In this work, dilute acid pretreatment using seven different organic acids were compared for compositional analysis of corn cob. The first pKa of organic acids, influenced by the number and type of the side group and distance between two carboxylic groups, played a crucial role in the pretreatment effect. Citric acid was found to have better pretreatment performance than other tested dicarboxylic acids. Under the condition of 30 mM, 160°C and 60 min, the level of xylose reached 22.64 g/L More >

Study on the Preparation and Adsorption Property of Polyvinyl Alcohol/Cellulose Nanocrystal/Graphene Composite Aerogels (PCGAs)

    Yan Wu1,*, Xinyu Wu1, Feng Yang2,*, Li Xu1, Meng Sun1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.11, pp. 1181-1195, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.07493

Abstract The cellulose nanocrystals/graphene composite aerogel (CGA) and polyvinyl alcohol/cellulose nanocrystals/graphene composite aerogel (PCGA) were prepared by suspension titration, tert-butanol solution replacement and freeze-drying successively. The removal rates of methyl blue (MB) from water by CGA and PCGA were evaluated and the effects of additions, adsorption time, reaction temperature and pH value of CGA and PCGA on MB removal rate were discussed. It was found that the optimal concentrations of both CGA and PCGA were 2 g∙L-1 in the adsorption reaction process and the adsorption equilibrium was reached within 120 min. The higher the initial pH More >
