    Odelu Ojjela*, N. Naresh Kumar

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.5, pp. 1-12, 2014, DOI:10.5098/hmt.5.22

Abstract This article deals the Hall and ion slip currents on free convection flow, heat and mass transfer of an electrically conducting couple stress fluid through porous channels with chemical reaction, Soret and Dufour effects. Assume that there is symmetric suction or injection along the expanding or contracting walls, which are maintained at different constant temperatures and concentrations. The governing partial differential equations are reduced to nonlinear dimensionless ordinary differential equations using the similarity transformations and solved numerically by the method of quasilinearization. The effects of various parameters on non-dimensional velocity components, temperature distribution and concentration are discussed in detail and… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.6, pp. 1-7, 2015, DOI:10.5098/hmt.6.18

Abstract An investigation is carried out to analyze the unsteady MHD free convection, heat and mass transfer flow of a Newtonian fluid past an infinite vertical porous plate with homogeneous chemical reaction and heat absorption/generation. A uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plate. The non-dimensional governing equations are solved numerically by using finite difference method. The effects of various parameters governing the flow on velocity, temperature, concentration, skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are studied through graphs. It is noticed that velocity decreases with an increase in Magnetic field while it increases with an increase in Grashof number,… More >

THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS FOR THE MHD FLOW OF TWO IMMISCIBLE MICROPOLAR FLUIDS BETWEEN TWO PARALLEL PLATES

    J. Srinivas*, J. V. Ramana Murthy

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.6, pp. 1-11, 2015, DOI:10.5098/hmt.6.4

Abstract The paper aims the heat transfer analysis for the flow of two immiscible micropolar fluids inside a horizontal channel, by the first and second laws of thermodynamics under the action of an imposed transverse magnetic field. The plates of the channel are maintained at constant temperatures higher than that of the fluid. The flow region consists of two zones, the flow of the heavier fluid taking place in the lower zone. The condition of hyper-stick is taken on the plates and continuity of velocity, micro-rotation, temperature, heat flux, shear stress and couple stress are imposed at the interface. The velocity,… More >

    P. Bala Anki Reddya,*, S. Suneethab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-11, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.24

Abstract We report on a mathematical model for analyzing the effects of homogeneous-heterogeneous chemical reaction and slip velocity on the MHD stagnation point flow of electrically conducting micropolar fluid over a stretching/shrinking surface embedded in a porous medium. The governing boundary layer coupled partial differential equations are transformed into a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations, which are solved numerically using the MATLAB bvp4c solver. The effects of physical and fluid parameters such as the stretching parameter, micropolar parameter, permeability parameter, strength of homogeneous and heterogeneous reaction parameter on the velocity and concentration are analyzed, and these results are presented through… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.11

Abstract In this article the laminar mixed convective incompressible electrically conducting flow of a nanofluid in vertical channel has been investigated by considering Hall and Ion-slip parameter effects. The nonlinear governing equations are non-dimensionalized and then solving by using HAM procedure. The impact of the magnetic, Hall and Ion-slip parameter on dimensionless velocity, temperature and nanoparticle concentration are investigated and represented geo-metrically. More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.8

Abstract In this study, a numerical investigation is performed to analyse the flow and heat transfer characteristic of magnetohydrodynamic Casson fluid flow past a semi-infinite stretching surface in the presence of Cattaneo – Christov heat flux and nonlinear thermal radiation. Appropriate transformations are employed to reduce the governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. Further, solutions of the ordinary differential equation are obtained with the aid of Runge- Kutta based shooting technique. The effect of various non- dimensional governing parameters on velocity and temperature fields for suction and injection cases are discussed with the help of graphs. Also computed and… More >

    T. Sravan Kumar, B. Rushi Kumar*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.9, pp. 1-7, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.9.13

Abstract In this work, the steady natural convective boundary layer flow of nanofluid and heat transfer over a stretching sheet in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field is investigated. We consider two different base fluids and three different nanoparticles were examined as nanofluid. A new model was used in the simulation of nanofluid. Similarity transformations are used to obtain a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The resulting equations are solved numerically by shooting method with Runge-Kutta fourth order scheme (MATLAB package). The effects of various parameters describing the transport in the presence of thermal radiation, buoyancy parameter, magnetic… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.31

Abstract This study reports the flow, thermal and concentration attributes of magnetic-nanofluids past an elongated plate with thermal radiation and chemical reaction. The flow considered is two-dimensional and time-dependent. The pressure gradient and ohmic heating terms are neglected in this analysis. The flow governing PDEs are transformed into ODEs using appropriate conversions. Further, the set of ODEs are solved analytically using perturbation technique. The flow quantities such as velocity, thermal and concentration fields are discussed under the influence of various pertinent parameters namely volume fraction of nanoparticle, magnetic field, stretching parameter, Soret number, radiation and chemical reaction with the assistance of… More >

Astick Banerjeea , Aurang Zaibb , Krishnendu Bhattacharyyac,* , S.K. Mahatod

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.30

Abstract The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) mixed convection heat transfer in a non-Newtonian Powell-Erying fluid flow due to an exponentially shrinking porous sheet is investigated. Both assisting and opposing flows are considered. After use of the suitable transformations, the governing equations become non-similar ODEs. Numerical computations of resulting equations are obtained by very efficient shooting method for several values of involved parameters. The results exhibit that dual non-similar solutions can be found only when some amount of fluid mass is sucked from the flow field through the porous sheet. Many important results on the effect of external magnetic field on mixed convective flow… More >

    S.R.R. Reddya , P. Bala Anki Reddya,*, S. Suneethab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-10, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.22
