Comparative Flood Hazard Assessment in Assam’s Belsiri River Basin Using AHP and MaxEnt Models

    Nilotpal Kalita1,*, Ashok Kumar Bora2, Rana Sarmah3, Dhrubajyoti Sahariah2, Manash Jyoti Nath2,*

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.34, pp. 37-51, 2025, DOI:10.32604/rig.2024.058265 - 13 January 2025

Abstract Flooding is a natural event often associated with floodplain areas, characterised by large, sudden and significant rises in river water levels that drastically alters the surrounding landscape. The research employs ArcGIS tools, multi-criteria evaluation techniques and the Maximum Entropy (MaxEnt) model to assess flood hazard zones. The key physical elements of slope, elevation, rainfall, drainage density, land use, and soil types have been integrated to identify areas vulnerable to flooding. Overlay analysis has been used to construct zones specifically designated for flood hazards. Additionally, pairwise comparison using Saaty’s scale was employed to calculate the Eigenvector More > Graphic Abstract

Application of Fuzzy-AHP in GIS in Finding E-Scooter Trail for Street Art

Muhammad Salahuddin Mohamad Shahrul Annuar, Nabilah Naharudin*, Nur Aina Adiela Azmi, Nafisah Khalid

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.34, pp. 53-69, 2025, DOI:10.32604/rig.2025.058078 - 13 January 2025

Abstract Tourism trails connect destinations, points of interest, and travel-related businesses. By enhancing connectivity, these trails reduce travel time, allowing tourists to maximize their exploration of sites, leading to more efficient and satisfying travel experiences. The rising popularity of e-scooters in urban areas has highlighted the need to identify safe and accessible routes, particularly in cities where safety concerns have led to restrictions. Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) and Geographic Information System (GIS) network analysis can be employed to determine optimal paths by considering multiple criteria. This study focuses on finding an optimal street art trail for… More >

Internet of Things Software Engineering Model Validation Using Knowledge-Based Semantic Learning

Mahmood Alsaadi, Mohammed E. Seno*, Mohammed I. Khalaf

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.40, pp. 29-52, 2025, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2024.060390 - 10 January 2025

Abstract The agility of Internet of Things (IoT) software engineering is benchmarked based on its systematic insights for wide application support infrastructure developments. Such developments are focused on reducing the interfacing complexity with heterogeneous devices through applications. To handle the interfacing complexity problem, this article introduces a Semantic Interfacing Obscuration Model (SIOM) for IoT software-engineered platforms. The interfacing obscuration between heterogeneous devices and application interfaces from the testing to real-time validations is accounted for in this model. Based on the level of obscuration between the infrastructure hardware to the end-user software, the modifications through device replacement, More >

3D Reconstruction for Early Detection of Liver Cancer

    Rana Mohamed1,2,*, Mostafa Elgendy1, Mohamed Taha1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.49, pp. 213-238, 2025, DOI:10.32604/csse.2024.059491 - 10 January 2025

Abstract Globally, liver cancer ranks as the sixth most frequent malignancy cancer. The importance of early detection is undeniable, as liver cancer is the fifth most common disease in men and the ninth most common cancer in women. Recent advances in imaging, biomarker discovery, and genetic profiling have greatly enhanced the ability to diagnose liver cancer. Early identification is vital since liver cancer is often asymptomatic, making diagnosis difficult. Imaging techniques such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), and ultrasonography can be used to identify liver cancer once a sample of liver tissue is… More >

Enhancing Vehicle Overtaking System via LoRa-Enabled Vehicular Communication Approach

Kwang Chee Seng, Siti Fatimah Abdul Razak*, Sumendra Yogarayan

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.49, pp. 239-258, 2025, DOI:10.32604/csse.2024.056582 - 10 January 2025

Abstract Vehicle overtaking poses significant risks and leads to injuries and losses on Malaysia’s roads. In most scenarios, insufficient and untimely information available to drivers for accessing road conditions and their surrounding environment is the primary factor that causes these incidents. To address these issues, a comprehensive system is required to provide real-time assistance to drivers. Building upon our previous research on a LoRa-based lane change decision-aid system, this study proposes an enhanced Vehicle Overtaking System (VOS). This system utilizes long-range (LoRa) communication for reliable real-time data exchange between vehicles (V2V) and the cloud (V2C). By More >

Abstract The wireless signals emitted by base stations serve as a vital link connecting people in today’s society and have been occupying an increasingly important role in real life. The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) relies on the support of base stations, which provide a solid foundation for achieving a more intelligent way of living. In a specific area, achieving higher signal coverage with fewer base stations has become an urgent problem. Therefore, this article focuses on the effective coverage area of base station signals and proposes a novel Evolutionary Particle Swarm Optimization (EPSO)… More >

Toward Analytical Homogenized Relaxation Modulus for Fibrous Composite Material with Reduced Order Homogenization Method

    Huilin Jia1, Shanqiao Huang1, Zifeng Yuan1,2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.82, No.1, pp. 193-222, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.059950 - 03 January 2025

Abstract In this manuscript, we propose an analytical equivalent linear viscoelastic constitutive model for fiber-reinforced composites, bypassing general computational homogenization. The method is based on the reduced-order homogenization (ROH) approach. The ROH method typically involves solving multiple finite element problems under periodic conditions to evaluate elastic strain and eigenstrain influence functions in an ‘off-line’ stage, which offers substantial cost savings compared to direct computational homogenization methods. Due to the unique structure of the fibrous unit cell, “off-line” stage calculation can be eliminated by influence functions obtained analytically. Introducing the standard solid model to the ROH method More >
