    Abstract The increasing demand for renewable energy sources has driven the exploration of innovative materials for biofuel production. This study investigates bio-pellet characteristics derived from several oyster mushroom baglog wastes with varying concentrations of molasses as an adhesive. The process began with sun-drying the baglog waste for three days, followed by oven drying at 80°C for 24 h. Bio-pellets were produced by blending baglog waste with molasses at concentrations of 5% and 10% (w/v), then subsequently fed into a pellet mill.     Abstract The utilisation of sugar palm bunches-charcoal briquettes (SPB-CB) represents a significant advancement in biomass energy. This study aimed to analyse the properties of charcoal briquettes produced from SPB (Arenga longipes). The experiment involved categorising the dimensions of charcoal powder into three specific particle sizes: 20–40 mesh, 40–60 mesh, and particles that could pass through a 60-mesh screen.     Abstract The material associated with tree pruning in a city in the Colombian neotropics was characterized in order to determine its energy potential. The species studied for their relevance in the territory were Prosopis juliflora, Licania tomentosa, Terminalia catappa, Azadirachta indica, Pithecellobium dulce, Ficus benjamina and Leucaena leucocephala. Moisture content, bulk density, hygroscopic response, elemental chemical analysis, proximal analysis, calorific value, ease of ignition and combustion, thermogravimetric and heat flow analysis, steam generation capacity, and qualitative analysis of gases (mass spectrometry) were determined.
