A New Color Model for Fire Pixels Detection in PJF Color Space

Amal Ben Hamida1,*, Chokri Ben Amar2, Yasser Albagory2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1607-1621, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024939 - 24 March 2022

Abstract Since the number of fires in the world is rising rapidly, automatic fire detection is getting more and more interest in computer vision community. Instead of the usual inefficient sensors, captured videos by video surveillance cameras can be analyzed to quickly detect fires and prevent damages. This paper presents an early fire-alarm raising method based on image processing. The developed work is able to discriminate fire and non-fire pixels. Fire pixels are identified thanks to a rule-based color model built in the PJF color space. PJF is a newly designed color space that enables to… More >

    Ayman M. Abdalla1,*, Mohammad Abu Awad2, Omar AlZoubi2, La'aly A. Al-Samrraie3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.1, pp. 797-814, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024913 - 24 February 2022

Abstract The enlarged veins in the pampiniform venous plexus, known as varicocele disease, are typically identified using ultrasound scans. The medical diagnosis of varicocele is based on examinations made in three positions taken to the right and left testicles of the male patient. The proposed system is designed to determine whether a patient is affected. Varicocele is more frequent on the left side of the scrotum than on the right and physicians commonly depend on the supine position more than other positions. Therefore, the experimental results of this study focused on images taken in the supine… More >

Hyperchaos and MD5 Based Efficient Color Image Cipher

    Muhammad Samiullah1, Waqar Aslam1, Saima Sadiq2, Arif Mehmood1, Gyu Sang Choi3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.1, pp. 1645-1670, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021019 - 24 February 2022

Abstract While designing and developing encryption algorithms for text and images, the main focus has remained on security. This has led to insufficient attention on the improvement of encryption efficiency, enhancement of hyperchaotic sequence randomness, and dynamic DNA-based S-box. In this regard, a new symmetric block cipher scheme has been proposed. It uses dynamic DNA-based S-box connected with MD5 and a hyperchaotic system to produce confusion and diffusion for encrypting color images. Our proposed scheme supports various size color images. It generates three DNA based S-boxes for substitution namely DNA_1_s-box, DNA_2_s-box and DNA_3_s-box, each of size… More >

Contourlet and Gould Transforms for Hybrid Image Watermarking in RGB Color Images

    Reena Thomas1,*, M. Sucharitha2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.2, pp. 879-889, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024070 - 08 February 2022

Abstract The major intention of this work is to introduce a novel hybrid image watermarking technique for RGB color images. This hybrid watermarking algorithm uses two transforms such as Contourlet and Gould transform. The Contourlet transform is used as first stage while the Gould transform is used as second stage. In the watermark embedding phase, the R, G and B channels are transformed using Contourlet transform. The bandpass directional sub band coefficients of Contourlet transformed image are then divided into sub-blocks. The sub-blocks are then transformed using Gould transform and the watermark information is embedded on More >

Abstract The recent developments in biological and information technologies have resulted in the generation of massive quantities of data it speeds up the process of knowledge discovery from biological systems. Due to the advancements of medical imaging in healthcare decision making, significant attention has been paid by the computer vision and deep learning (DL) models. At the same time, the detection and classification of colorectal cancer (CC) become essential to reduce the severity of the disease at an earlier stage. The existing methods are commonly based on the combination of textual features to examine the classifier… More >

Fusion Based Tongue Color Image Analysis Model for Biomedical Applications

    Esam A. AlQaralleh1, Halah Nassif2, Bassam A. Y. Alqaralleh2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5477-5490, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024364 - 14 January 2022

Abstract Tongue diagnosis is a novel and non-invasive approach commonly employed to carry out the supplementary diagnosis over the globe. Recently, several deep learning (DL) based tongue color image analysis models have existed in the literature for the effective detection of diseases. This paper presents a fusion of handcrafted with deep features based tongue color image analysis (FHDF-TCIA) technique to biomedical applications. The proposed FDHF-TCIA technique aims to investigate the tongue images using fusion model, and thereby determines the existence of disease. Primarily, the FHDF-TCIA technique comprises Gaussian filtering based preprocessing to eradicate the noise. The More >

Mohamed Amin Ben Atitallah1,2,3,*, Rostom Kachouri2, Ahmed Ben Atitallah4, Hassene Mnif1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5963-5977, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024345 - 14 January 2022

Abstract In the context of constructing an embedded system to help visually impaired people to interpret text, in this paper, an efficient High-level synthesis (HLS) Hardware/Software (HW/SW) design for text extraction using the Gamma Correction Method (GCM) is proposed. Indeed, the GCM is a common method used to extract text from a complex color image and video. The purpose of this work is to study the complexity of the GCM method on Xilinx ZCU102 FPGA board and to propose a HW implementation as Intellectual Property (IP) block of the critical blocks in this method using HLS More >

Abstract Color, whiteness and glossiness of four caesalpiniaceae wood species were characterized by quantitative measurements and image analysis, i.e., which were respectively Berlinia bracteosa Benth., Monopetalanthus heitzii Pellegr., Distemonanthus benthamianus and Erythrophleum ivorense A. Chev. The color of four wood species was evaluated to be consistent by the CIELab and CIE1931 color system. The boards of B. bracteosa, M. heitzii and E. ivorense was divided into dark color. The wood color of B. bracteosa had the highest red to green hue, while the wood appearance of D. benthamianus had the brightest and yellowest color within the four wood species. The whiteness of D. benthamianus was significantly… More > Graphic Abstract
