Buoyancy Effects in the Peristaltic Flow of a Prandtl-Eyring Nanofluid with Slip Boundaries

    Hina Zahir*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.6, pp. 1507-1519, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.022520

Abstract The interaction of nanoparticles with a peristaltic flow is analyzed considering a Prandtl-Eyring fluid under various conditions, such as the presence of a heat source/sink and slip effects in channels with a curvature. This problem has extensive background links with various fields in medical science such as chemotherapy and more in general nanotechnology. A similarity transformation is used to turn the original balance equations into a set of ordinary differential equations, which are then integrated numerically. The investigation reveals that nanofluids have valuable thermal capabilitises. More >

Improved Beam Steering Method Using OAM Waves

    Nidal Qasem*, Ahmad Alamayreh

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 417-431, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.035603

Abstract Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) is an intrinsic feature of electromagnetic waves which has recently found many applications in several areas in radio and optics. In this paper, we use OAM wave characteristics to present a simple method for beam steering over both elevation and azimuth planes. The design overcomes some limitations of traditional steering methods, such as limited dynamic range of steering, the design complexity, bulky size of the steering structure, the limited bandwidth of operation, and low gain. Based on OAM wave characteristics, the proposed steering method avoids design complexities by adopting a simple method for generating the OAM-carrying… More >

Ring Oscillator for 60 Meter Bandwidth

    Rachana Arya1,*, B. K. Singh2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 93-105, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.029220

Abstract The 60-meter band range is tremendously useful in telecommunication, military and governmental applications. The I. T. U. (International Telecommunication Union) required isolationism to former radio frequency services because the various frequency bands are extremely overloaded. The allocation of new frequency bands are a lengthy procedure as well as time taking. As a result, the researchers use bidirectional, amateur radio frequency communication for 60-meter band, usually the frequency slot of 5250–5450 KHz, although the entire band is not essentially obtainable for all countries. For transmission and reception of these frequencies, a local oscillator is used in the mixer unit to generate… More >

    Xin Liu1, Zheng Liu2,*, Zhilin Huang1, Mingyu Ling1, Kangchao Lin1, Pengqing Chen1, Xiaomin Huang1, Yujia Zhai1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 685-707, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.025058

Abstract Ergonomic reliability plays a significant role in the safe operation of devices. With the spread of infectious diseases around the world, in work environments with high loads and high infection rates, medical staff work in a state of high self-protection. The use of visual display terminal (VDT) for medical equipment has undergone fundamental changes, and the traditional medical equipment human-machine interface design needs to be improved. After the completion of design and development, a VDT design enters the experimental testing stage, which has significant limitations for simulating the work of medical staff in the high-load and high-infection environments. The testing… More >

Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of a High-Efficiency Battery Control System

    Mohammed Ayad Alkhafaji1, Yunus Uzun2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 709-732, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.024236

Abstract This paper explains step-by-step modeling and simulation of the full circuits of a battery control system and connected together starting from the AC input source to the battery control and storage system. The three-phase half-controlled rectifier has been designed to control and convert the AC power into DC power. In addition, two types of direct current converters have been used in this paper which are a buck and bidirectional DC/DC converters. These systems adjust the output voltage to be lower or higher than the input voltage. In the buck converters, the main switch operates in conduction or cut-off mode and… More >

    Somasundaram Devaraj*, Senthil Kumar Arunachalam

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1283-1299, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.033200

Abstract Retinal fundus images are used to discover many diseases. Several Machine learning algorithms are designed to identify the Glaucoma disease. But the accuracy and time consumption performance were not improved. To address this problem Max Pool Convolution Neural Kuan Filtered Tobit Regressive Segmentation based Radial Basis Image Classifier (MPCNKFTRS-RBIC) Model is used for detecting the Glaucoma and Stargardt’s disease by early period using higher accuracy and minimal time. In MPCNKFTRS-RBIC Model, the retinal fundus image is considered as an input which is preprocessed in hidden layer 1 using weighted adaptive Kuan filter. Then, preprocessed retinal fundus is given for hidden… More >

A Sensor-less Surface Mounted PMSM for Electronic Speed Control in Multilevel Inverter

    S. Dinesh Kumar1,*, A. Jagadeeshwaran2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 2201-2215, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.027467

Abstract Recent advancements in power electronics technology evolves inverter fed electric motors. Speed signals and rotor position are essential for controlling an electric motor accurately. In this paper, the sensorless speed control of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) has been attempted. SPMSM wants a digital inverter for its precise working. Hence, this study incorporates fifteen level inverter to the SPMSM. A sliding mode observer (SMO) based sensorless speed control scheme is projected to determine rotor spot and speed of the multilevel inverter (MLI) fed SPMSM. MLI has been operated using a multi carrier pulse width modulation (MCPWM) strategy for generation… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.3, pp. 5983-5999, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.035585

Abstract Compact fifth-generation (5G) low-frequency band filtering antennas (filtennas) with stable directive radiation patterns, improved bandwidth (BW), and gain are designed, fabricated, and tested in this research. The proposed filtennas are achieved by combining the predesigned compact 5G (5.975 – 7.125 GHz) third-order uniform and non-uniform transmission line hairpin bandpass filters (UTL and NTL HPBFs) with the compact ultrawide band Vivaldi tapered slot antenna (UWB VTSA) in one module. The objective of this integration is to enhance the performance of 5.975 – 7.125 GHz filtennas which will be suitable for modern mobile communication applications by exploiting the benefits of UWB VTSA. Three different cases based on the delay differential system with the Holling 3rd type of the functional response have been used to solve through the proposed LVMBPNNs solver. The statistic computing framework is provided by selecting 12%, 11%, and 77% for training, testing, and verification. Thirteen numbers of neurons have been used based… More >

Abstract This article presents an integrated current mode configurable analog block (CAB) system for field-programmable analog array (FPAA). The proposed architecture is based on the complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) transistor level design where MOSFET transistors operating in the saturation region are adopted. The proposed CAB architecture is designed to implement six of the widely used current mode operations in analog processing systems: addition, subtraction, integration, multiplication, division, and pass operation. The functionality of the proposed CAB is demonstrated through these six operations, where each operation is chosen based on the user’s selection in the CAB interface system. The architecture of the… More >
