    Fatma Mallouli

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.2, pp. 243-248, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000069

Abstract Density estimation via Gaussian mixture modelling has been successfully applied to image segmentation. In this paper, we have learned distributions mixture model to the pixel of an iris image as training data. We introduce the proposed algorithm by adapting the Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm. To further improve the accuracy for iris segmentation, we consider the EM algorithm in Markovian and non Markovian cases. Simulated data proves the accuracy of our algorithm. The proposed method is tested on a subset of the CASIA database by Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Automation-IrisTwins. The obtained results have shown a significant improvement of our… More >

    Duo Ma1, 2, 3, Hongyuan Fang1, 2, 3, *, Binghan Xue1, 2, 3, Fuming Wang1, 2, 3, Mohammed A. Msekh4, Chiu Ling Chan5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.123, No.3, pp. 1267-1291, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.09122

Abstract The crack is a common pavement failure problem. A lack of periodic maintenance will result in extending the cracks and damage the pavement, which will affect the normal use of the road. Therefore, it is significant to establish an efficient intelligent identification model for pavement cracks. The neural network is a method of simulating animal nervous systems using gradient descent to predict results by learning a weight matrix. It has been widely used in geotechnical engineering, computer vision, medicine, and other fields. However, there are three major problems in the application of neural networks to crack identification. There are too… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.78, pp. 43-47, 2009, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2009.78.043

Abstract The increasing demand of alfalfa crop production in the Lagunera Region has caused the search of new alternatives to the conventional methods of nutritional and hydric evaluation of alfalfa, where costs and time are optimized. The use of a machine vision system for computerized visual recognition of the crop hydric and/or nutritional stress implies the analysis and processing of certain characteristics, such as color, shape and object dimensions from a digital image. Due to the fact that identification parameters are closely related, it is necessary to compile information from specialists, foliar analysis, mathematical morphology and alfalfa crop deficiency photographs.
