Histone Demethylase JARID1B Is Overexpressed in Osteosarcoma and Upregulates Cyclin D1 Expression via Demethylation of H3K27me3

Wei Wang, Ke Zheng, Yi Pei, XiaoJing Zhang

    Oncology Research, Vol.26, No.3, pp. 373-384, 2018, DOI:10.3727/096504017X14939809845080

Abstract JARID1B has been proven to be upregulated in many human malignancies and is correlated with tumor progression. However, its expression and clinical significance in osteosarcoma are still unclear. Thus, the aim of this study was to explore the effects of JARID1B in osteosarcoma tumorigenesis and development. In this study, we found that the expression levels of JARID1B in osteosarcoma tissues were significantly higher than those in corresponding noncancerous bone tissues. In addition, JARID1B upregulation occurred more frequently in osteosarcoma specimens from patients with a poor prognosis. After JARID1B transfection in osteosarcoma cells, cell proliferation was More >

    Oncology Research, Vol.27, No.6, pp. 729-737, 2019, DOI:10.3727/096504018X15443011011637

Abstract Multiple myeloma (MM) is a hematopoietic malignancy characterized by the clonal proliferation of antibodysecreting plasma cells. Bortezomib (BZM), the first FDA-approved proteasome inhibitor, has significant antimyeloma activity and prolongs the median survival of MM patients. However, MM remains incurable predominantly due to acquired drug resistance and disease relapse. -Catenin, a key effector protein in the canonical Wnt signaling pathway, has been implicated in regulating myeloma cell sensitivity to BZM. Decitabine (DAC) is an epigenetic modulating agent that induces tumor suppressor gene reexpression based on its gene-specific DNA hypomethylation. DAC has been implicated in modulating Wnt/… More >

Synthetic Process of Bio-Based Phenol Formaldehyde Adhesive Derived from Demethylated Wheat Straw Alkali Lignin and Its Curing Behavior

    Yan Song1,2, Zhixin Wang3, Xin Zhang4, Rong Zhang1, Jinchun Li1,2,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.9, No.5, pp. 943-957, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2021.014131

Abstract Lignin is a natural biopolymer with a complex three-dimensional network, commercially obtained from waste liquid of paper pulp and bioethanol production, and could be a candidate for preparation of environment-friendly bio-based polyphenol material. In the present work, the demethylated wheat straw alkali lignin (D-Lig), prepared by demethylation of wheat straw alkali lignin (Lig) using an in-situ generated Lewis acid, was used to synthesize bio-based phenol formaldehyde resin adhesive (D-LPF) applied in plywood. Effects of synthetic process’s factors, including lignin substitution for phenol, NaOH concentration and molar ratio of formaldehyde to phenol, on the bonding strength and… More >
