    Haijun Yang1,2,*, Zhenzhong Cai1,2, Hui Zhang1,2, Chong Sun1,2, Jing Li3,*, Xiaoyu Meng3, Chen Liu4, Chengqiang Yang3

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.2, pp. 537-560, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.058747 - 31 January 2025

Abstract Deep tight reservoirs exhibit complex stress and seepage fields due to varying pore structures, thus the seepage characteristics are significant for enhancing oil production. This study conducted triaxial compression and permeability tests to investigate the mechanical and seepage properties of tight sandstone. A digital core of tight sandstone was built using Computed Tomography (CT) scanning, which was divided into matrix and pore phases by a pore equivalent diameter threshold. A fluid-solid coupling model was established to investigate the seepage characteristics at micro-scale. The results showed that increasing the confining pressure decreased porosity, permeability, and flow More >

Muhammad Aliff Haiqal Darmawan1, Shahrul Nizan Abd Mukti2, Khairul Nizam Tahar1,*

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.34, pp. 21-35, 2025, DOI:10.32604/rig.2024.057266 - 13 January 2025

Abstract Potholes are the most prevalent type of structural defect found on roads, caused by aging infrastructure, heavy rains, heavy traffic, thin or weak substructures, and other factors. Regular assessment of road conditions is essential for maintaining and improving road networks. Current techniques for identifying potholes on urban roadways primarily rely on public reporting, such as hotlines or social networking websites, which are both time-consuming and inefficient. This study aims to detect potholes using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) images, enabling accurate analysis of their size, shape, and location, thereby enhancing detection efficiency compared to conventional methods.… More >

CSRWA: Covert and Severe Attacks Resistant Watermarking Algorithm

Balsam Dhyia Majeed1,2, Amir Hossein Taherinia1,*, Hadi Sadoghi Yazdi1, Ahad Harati1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.82, No.1, pp. 1027-1047, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.059789 - 03 January 2025

Abstract Watermarking is embedding visible or invisible data within media to verify its authenticity or protect copyright. The watermark is embedded in significant spatial or frequency features of the media to make it more resistant to intentional or unintentional modification. Some of these features are important perceptual features according to the human visual system (HVS), which means that the embedded watermark should be imperceptible in these features. Therefore, both the designers of watermarking algorithms and potential attackers must consider these perceptual features when carrying out their actions. The two roles will be considered in this paper… More >

    Zhimao Lai1,2, Saad Arif3, Cong Feng4, Guangjun Liao5, Chuntao Wang6,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.82, No.1, pp. 73-102, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.059370 - 03 January 2025

Abstract With the rapid advancement of visual generative models such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and stable Diffusion, the creation of highly realistic Deepfake through automated forgery has significantly progressed. This paper examines the advancements in Deepfake detection and defense technologies, emphasizing the shift from passive detection methods to proactive digital watermarking techniques. Passive detection methods, which involve extracting features from images or videos to identify forgeries, encounter challenges such as poor performance against unknown manipulation techniques and susceptibility to counter-forensic tactics. In contrast, proactive digital watermarking techniques embed specific markers into images or videos, facilitating More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.93, No.11, pp. 2883-2907, 2024, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2024.058627 - 30 November 2024

Abstract Background: Aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) genes constitute an important family of supergenes that play key roles in synthesizing various biomolecules and maintaining cellular homeostasis by catalyzing the oxidation of aldehyde products. With climate change increasing the exposure of plants to abiotic stresses such as salt and drought, ALDH genes have been identified as important contributors to stress tolerance. In particular, they help to reduce stress-induced lipid peroxidation. Objectives: This study aims to identify and characterize members of the ALDH supergene family in Phaseolus vulgaris through a genome-wide bioinformatic analysis and investigate their role in response to abiotic stressors such… More >
