    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.2, pp. 1819-1838, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.040729

Abstract 3D models are essential in virtual reality, game development, architecture design, engineering drawing, medicine, and more. Compared to digital images, 3D models can provide more realistic visual effects. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the field of digital image encryption, and researchers have developed new algorithms that are more secure and efficient. However, there needs to be more research on 3D model encryption. This paper proposes a new 3D model encryption algorithm, called the 1D map with sin and logistic coupling (1D-MWSLC), because existing digital image encryption algorithms cannot be directly applied to 3D models. Firstly, this… More >

GeoWeb 2.0 applications could support the Geodesign process

    Wided Batita

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.29, No.3, pp. 263-285, 2019, DOI:10.3166/rig.2019.00092

Abstract The emergence of Web 2.0 is materialized by new technologies (APIs, Ajax, etc.), by new practices (mashup, geotagging, etc.) an, by new tools (wiki, blog, etc.). It is primarily based on the principle of participation and collaboration. In this dynamic, the web mapping with spatial character or simply called Geospatial Web (or Geoweb) evolves by strong technological and social changes. Participatory GeoWeb 2.0 is materialized in particular by mashups among wikis and géobrowsers (ArgooMap, Geowiki, WikiMapia, etc.). The new applications resulting from these mashups are moving towards more interactive forms of collective intelligence. The Geodesign is a new area, which… More >

Shadow detection and correction using a combined 3D GIS and image processing approach

    Safa Ridene1 , Reda Yaagoubi1, Imane Sebari1, Audrey Alajouanine2

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.29, No.3, pp. 241-253, 2019, DOI:10.3166/rig.2019.00091

Abstract While shadow can give useful information about size and shape of objects, it can pose problems in feature detection and object detection, thereby, it represents one of the major perturbator phenomenons frequently occurring on images and unfortunately, it is inevitable. “Shadows may lead to the failure of image analysis processes and also cause a poor quality of information which in turn leads to problems in implementation of algorithms.” (Mahajan and Bajpayee, 2015). It also affects multiple image analysis applications, whereby shadow cast by buildings deteriorate the spectral values of the surfaces. Therefore, its presence causes a deterioration in the visual… More >

GIS analysis of hypsometry and basin asymmetry factor in Htab river basin and tectonic implications (Central Atlas, Tunisia)

    Ali Chaieb, Noamen Rebai

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.29, No.3, pp. 287-296, 2019, DOI:10.3166/rig.2019.00082

Abstract The geomorphology of the Htab river watershed is mainly guided by the action of the E-W Kasserine fault. This activity influenced the installed hydrographic system. To see the impact of neotectonic on the Htab river watershed, four morphometric indices were applied: the elongation ratio, the hypsometric curve, the hypsometric integral, and the asymmetry factor. The processing and calculation of these indices were based on global DEMs (Digital Elevation Models). The result obtained shows an important link between the activity of the Kasserine fault, the geomorphological behavior of the Htab river watershed and the hydrographic network. Field observations confirmed well these… More >

Wei Tiana , Mingjun Panga,*, Na Xub,†

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, pp. 1-12, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.13

Abstract Drag reduction (DR) by the additive of mixed surfactant and polymer is investigated in detail in a rotating disk apparatus (RDA). Polyethylene oxide (PEO) and Cetyltrimethyl ammonium chloride (CTAC)/sodium salicylate (NaSal) are chosen as polymer and surfactant, respectively. It is investigated on the influence of combination concentration of polymer & surfactant, temperature and Reynolds number on the drag-reducing rate. The present experimental results show that the drag-reducing rate of the mixed solution is definitely higher than that of the pure PEO or CTAC/NaSal solutions. This phenomenon is especially sharp at the high temperature and/or the large Reynolds number. When the… More >

    Read-Write Dependency Aware Register Allocation

    Sheng Xiao1,*, Yong Chen2, Jing He3, Xi Yang4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.3, pp. 3527-3540, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.027081

Abstract Read-write dependency is an important factor restricting software efficiency. Timing Speculative (TS) is a processing architecture aiming to improve energy efficiency of microprocessors. Timing error rate, influenced by the read-write dependency, bottlenecks the voltage down-scaling and so the energy efficiency of TS processors. We proposed a method called Read-Write Dependency Aware Register Allocation. It is based on the Read-Write Dependency aware Interference Graph (RWDIG) conception. Registers are reallocated to loosen the read-write dependencies, so resulting in a reduction of timing errors. The traditional no operation (Nop) padding method is also redesigned to increase the distance value to above 2. We… More >
