    Muhammad Adnan Khan1,2, Sagheer Abbas3, Ali Raza3, Faheem Khan4, T. Whangbo4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5911-5931, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.023557

Abstract Progress in understanding multisensory integration in human have suggested researchers that the integration may result into the enhancement or depression of incoming signals. It is evident based on different psychological and behavioral experiments that stimuli coming from different perceptual modalities at the same time or from the same place, the signal having more strength under the influence of emotions effects the response accordingly. Current research in multisensory integration has not studied the effect of emotions despite its significance and natural influence in multisensory enhancement or depression. Therefore, there is a need to integrate the emotional state of the agent with… More >

A Virtual Machine Placement Strategy Based on Virtual Machine Selection and Integration

    Denghui Zhang1,*, Guocai Yin2

    Journal on Internet of Things, Vol.3, No.4, pp. 149-157, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jiot.2021.016936

Abstract Cloud data centers face the largest energy consumption. In order to save energy consumption in cloud data centers, cloud service providers adopt a virtual machine migration strategy. In this paper, we propose an efficient virtual machine placement strategy (VMP-SI) based on virtual machine selection and integration. Our proposed VMP-SI strategy divides the migration process into three phases: physical host state detection, virtual machine selection and virtual machine placement. The local regression robust (LRR) algorithm and minimum migration time (MMT) policy are individual used in the first and section phase, respectively. Then we design a virtual machine migration strategy that integrates… More >

    Journal on Internet of Things, Vol.3, No.4, pp. 131-137, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jiot.2021.015994

Abstract Parents concerns for their children who has a critical health conditions may limit the children movements and live to engage with others peers anytime and anywhere. Thus, in this study aims to propose a framework to help the children who has critical disease to have more activity and engagement with other peers. Additionally, reducing their parents’ concerns by providing monitoring and tracking system to their parents for their children health conditions. However, this study proposed a framework include tracking and monitoring wearable (TMW) device and decision system to alert healthcare providers and parents for any failure in the children health… More >

A Novel Method for the Reconstruction of Road Profiles from Measured Vehicle Responses Based on the Kalman Filter Method

    Jianghui Zhu1,3, Xiaotong Chang2, Xueli Zhang2, Yutai Su2, Xu Long2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.130, No.3, pp. 1719-1735, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019140

Abstract The estimation of the disturbance input acting on a vehicle from its given responses is an inverse problem. To overcome some of the issues related to ill-posed inverse problems, this work proposes a method of reconstructing the road roughness based on the Kalman filter method. A half-car model that considers both the vehicle and equipment is established, and the joint input-state estimation method is used to identify the road profile. The capabilities of this methodology in the presence of noise are numerically demonstrated. Moreover, to reduce the influence of the driving speed on the estimation results, a method of choosing… More >

Concurrent Material Selection of Natural Fibre Filament for Fused Deposition Modeling Using Integration of Analytic Hierarchy Process/Analytic Network Process

    M. T. Mastura1,*, R. Nadlene2, R. Jumaidin1, S. I. Abdul Kudus1, M. R. Mansor2, H. M. S. Firdaus1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.5, pp. 1221-1238, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.018082

Abstract The employment of natural fibres in fused deposition modeling has raised much attention from researchers in finding a suitable formulation for the natural fibre composite filaments. Moreover, selection of suitable natural fibres for fused deposition modeling should be performed before the development of the composites. It could not be performed without identifying selection criteria that comprehend both materials and fused deposition modeling process requirements. Therefore, in this study, integration of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)/Analytic Network Process (ANP) has been introduced in selecting the natural fibres based in different clusters of selection concurrently. The selection process has been performed based… More >

Integration of Renewable Energy Sources into the Smart Grid Using Enhanced SCA

    Shaik Karimulla, K. Ravi*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.3, pp. 1557-1572, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022953

Abstract The usage of energy in everyday life is growing day by day as a result of the rapid growth in the human population. One solution is to increase electricity generation to the same extent as the human population, but this is usually practically impossible. As the population is increasing, the need for electrical usage is also increasing. Therefore, smart grids play an important role in making efficient use of existing energy sources like solar, wind and battery storage systems. By managing demand, the minimization of power consumption and its consequent costs. On the load side, residential and commercial types use… More >

Abstract Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is a breakthrough technology in the transfer of medical data via a communication system. Wearable sensor devices collect patient data and transfer them through mobile internet, that is, the IoMT. Recently, the shift in paradigm from manual data storage to electronic health recording on fog, edge, and cloud computing has been noted. These advanced computing technologies have facilitated medical services with minimum cost and available conditions. However, the IoMT raises a high concern on network security and patient data privacy in the health care system. The main issue is the transmission of health data with… More >

Numerical Aspects of Isogeometric Boundary Element Methods: (Nearly) Singular Quadrature, Trimmed NURBS and Surface Crack Modeling

    Xuan Peng1,*, Haojie Lian2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.130, No.1, pp. 513-542, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.017410

Abstract This work presents some numerical aspects of isogeometric boundary element methods (IGABEM). The behavior of hyper-singular and nearly-singular integration is first explored on the distorted NURBS surface. Several numerical treatments are proposed to enhance the quadrature in the framework of isogeometric analysis. Then a numerical implementation of IGABEM on the trimmed NURBS is detailed. Based on this idea, the surface crack problem is modeled incorporation with the phantom element method. The proposed method allows the crack to intersect with the boundary of the body while preserving the original parametrization of the NURBS-based CAD geometry. More >

    Pradeep K. Majhi1, Rifat Azam1, Richa Kothari2,*, Naveen Kumar Arora1, V. V. Tyagi3

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.1, pp. 419-427, 2022, DOI:10.32604/EE.2022.016973

Abstract Dyes are an integral part of the dying industry and have significantly resulted in environmental pollution by altering the standard water quality after their discharge into the water bodies. The culprits behind the altered water quality are the pretreatment chemicals used during dying manufacturing processes. Various advanced treatment methods using conventional and advanced treatment options including solar energy have been put forth by researchers for the treatment of the dying effluents but, these methods have not proved significantly considerable. Therefore, the present study intends to check the efficiency of solar parabolic trough collector for treating the dying effluents in terms… More >
