TMCA-Net: A Compact Convolution Network for Monitoring Upper Limb Rehabilitation

    Qi Liu1, Zihao Wu1,*, Xiaodong Liu2

    Journal on Internet of Things, Vol.4, No.3, pp. 169-181, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jiot.2022.040368

Abstract This study proposed a lightweight but high-performance convolution network for accurately classifying five upper limb movements of arm, involving forearm flexion and rotation, arm extension, lumbar touch and no reaction state, aiming to monitoring patient’s rehabilitation process and assist the therapist in elevating patient compliance with treatment. To achieve this goal, a lightweight convolution neural network TMCA-Net (Time Multiscale Channel Attention Convolutional Neural Network) is designed, which combines attention mechanism, uses multi-branched convolution structure to automatically extract feature information at different scales from sensor data, and filters feature information based on attention mechanism. In particular, channel separation convolution is used… More >

TianmaGouteng yin attenuates ischemic stroke-induced brain injury by inhibiting the AGE/RAGE pathway

LUOJUN ZHENG, LUAN WENG, DIWEN SHOU*

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.6, pp. 1345-1352, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.028866

Abstract Background: Ischemic stroke is characterized by permanent or transient obstruction of blood flow, leading to a growing risk factor and health burden. Tianmagouteng yin (TMG) is commonly used in Chinese medicine to treat cerebral ischemia. The aim of this study was to investigate the neuroprotective effects of TMG against ischemic stroke. Methods: Either permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion (pMCAO) or sham operation was performed on anesthetized Wistar male rats (n = 36). Results: Results demonstrated that TMG administration reduced the infarction volume and mitigated the neurobehavioral deficits. Hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining and Prussian blue staining revealed that TMG attenuated… More >

RMCARTAM For DDoS Attack Mitigation in SDN Using Machine Learning

    M. Revathi, V. V. Ramalingam*, B. Amutha

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 3023-3036, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.033600

Abstract The impact of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on Software Defined Networks (SDN) is briefly analyzed. Many approaches to detecting DDoS attacks exist, varying on the feature being considered and the method used. Still, the methods have a deficiency in the performance of detecting DDoS attacks and mitigating them. To improve the performance of SDN, an efficient Real-time Multi-Constrained Adaptive Replication and Traffic Approximation Model (RMCARTAM) is sketched in this article. The RMCARTAM considers different parameters or constraints in running different controllers responsible for handling incoming packets. The model is designed with multiple controllers to handle network traffic… More >

RMCA-LSA: A Method of Monkey Brain Extraction

    Hongxia Deng1, Chunxiang Hu1, Zihao Zhou2, Jinxiu Guo1, Zhenxuan Zhang3, Haifang Li1,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.29, No.2, pp. 387-402, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016989

Abstract The traditional level set algorithm selects the position of the initial contour randomly and lacks the processing of edge information. Therefore, it cannot accurately extract the edge of the brain tissue. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a level set algorithm that fuses partition and Canny function. Firstly, the idea of partition is fused, and the initial contour position is selected by combining the morphological information of each region, so that the initial contour contains more brain tissue regions, and the efficiency of brain tissue extraction is improved. Secondly, the canny operator is fused in the energy… More >

Application of Dual Modality Contrast Agent Combined with Multi-Scale Representation in Ultrasound-Magnetic Resonance Imaging Registration Scheme

    Mo Hou1,*, Weiyu Kevin Chiang2,*, Weiqiang Hong1, Maoyun Yang1, Wenhua Yu3,4

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.17, No.4, pp. 165-178, 2020, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2020.010805

Abstract To achieve the image registration/fusion and perfect the quality of the integration, with dual modality contrast agent (DMCA), a novel multi-scale representation registration method between ultrasound imaging (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is presented in the paper, and how DMCA influence on registration accuracy is chiefly discussed. Owing to US’s intense speckle noise, it is a tremendous challenge to register US with any other modality images. How to improve the algorithms for US processing has become the bottleneck, and in the short term it is difficult to have a breakthrough. In that case, DMCA is employed in both US… More >
