    I.S. Oyelakina,† , S. Mondala,* , P. Sibandaa

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-9, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.37

Abstract In this paper we study the effects of thermal radiation, heat and mass transfer on the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) flow of a three dimensional Casson nanofluid. The flow is subject to partial slip and convective conditions. The traditional model which includes the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis is revised so that the nanofluid particle volume fraction on the boundary is not actively controlled. In this respect the problem is more realistic. The dimensionless governing equations were solved using the spectral quasi-linearisation method. This work aims to fill the gap in existing literature by showing the effects of porosity, magnetic field… More >

    R. Srinivasa Rajua,*, G. Jithender Reddyb , G. Anithaa

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-12, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.27

Abstract In the present study, consider an influence of chemical reaction on an unsteady MHD free convective, viscous dissipative Casson fluid flow over a vertically inclined plate in presence of magnetic field, heat and mass transfer. The modeling equations are converted to dimensionless equations, then solved through finite element technique. Computations were performed to analyze the behavior of fluid velocity, temperature, concentration and induced magnetic field on the inclined vertical plate with the variation of emerging physical parameters. Compared the present results with earlier reported studies for correctness and applicability of finite element technique. This model may be useful in view… More >

    Z. Iqbal, Ehtsham Azhar* , E. N. Maraj, Bilal Ahmad

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-7, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.25

Abstract Present investigation represent the study of Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model on boundary layer flow of hyperbolic tangent fluid which is generalized non-Newtonian fluid model over a continuously moving porous surface with a parallel free stream velocity. Mathematical formulation is completed in the presence of Magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD). Suitable relations transform the partial differential equations into the ordinary differential equations. Nonlinear flow analysis is computed and velocity and temperature profiles are obtained by shooting algorithm. Graphs are plotted to analyze the behavior of various involved physical parameters. Furthermore both type of flows Sakaidis ( λ = 1) and Blasius flow (0 ≤… More >

    P. Bala Anki Reddya,*, S. Suneethab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-11, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.24

Abstract We report on a mathematical model for analyzing the effects of homogeneous-heterogeneous chemical reaction and slip velocity on the MHD stagnation point flow of electrically conducting micropolar fluid over a stretching/shrinking surface embedded in a porous medium. The governing boundary layer coupled partial differential equations are transformed into a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations, which are solved numerically using the MATLAB bvp4c solver. The effects of physical and fluid parameters such as the stretching parameter, micropolar parameter, permeability parameter, strength of homogeneous and heterogeneous reaction parameter on the velocity and concentration are analyzed, and these results are presented through… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.13

Abstract Nowadays external magnetic fields are capable of setting the thermal and physical properties of magnetic-nanofluids and regulate the flow and heat transfer characteristics. The strength of the applied magnetic field affects the thermal conductivity of magnetic nanofluids and makes it aeolotropic. With this incentive, we investigate the flow and heat transfer of electrically conducting liquid film flow of Carreau nanofluid over a stretching sheet by considering the aligned magnetic field in the presence of space and temperature dependent heat source/sink and viscous dissipation. For this study, we considered kerosene as the base fluid embedded with the silver (Ag) and copper… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.11

Abstract In this article the laminar mixed convective incompressible electrically conducting flow of a nanofluid in vertical channel has been investigated by considering Hall and Ion-slip parameter effects. The nonlinear governing equations are non-dimensionalized and then solving by using HAM procedure. The impact of the magnetic, Hall and Ion-slip parameter on dimensionless velocity, temperature and nanoparticle concentration are investigated and represented geo-metrically. More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-7, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.9

Abstract A study has been carried out to analyse an unsteady free convective chemically reacting, MHD Visco-elastic fluid (Walter’s liquid-B model) flow past an infinite vertical plate in the presence of thermal radiation with uniform temperature and species diffusion. The dimensionless governing partial differential equations are solved by using Laplace transform technique. The effects of different physical parameters like visco-elastic parameter, chemical reaction parameter, Magnetic field parameter, thermal Grashof number, mass Grashof number and time are discussed by plotting the velocity profiles for both cooling  (Gr >0, Gm > 0) and heating of the plate (Gr < 0, Gm <… More >

    M. Sathish Kumara , N. Sandeepa,*, B. Rushi Kumara , J. Prakashb

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.8

Abstract In this study, a numerical investigation is performed to analyse the flow and heat transfer characteristic of magnetohydrodynamic Casson fluid flow past a semi-infinite stretching surface in the presence of Cattaneo – Christov heat flux and nonlinear thermal radiation. Appropriate transformations are employed to reduce the governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. Further, solutions of the ordinary differential equation are obtained with the aid of Runge- Kutta based shooting technique. The effect of various non- dimensional governing parameters on velocity and temperature fields for suction and injection cases are discussed with the help of graphs. Also computed and… More >

    D. Harish Babua , B. Venkateswarlub , P.V. Satya Narayanac,*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-9, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.5

Abstract This paper studies the combined effects of Soret (thermal-diffusion) and Dufour (diffusion-thermo) on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) boundary layer flow of a Jeffrey fluid past a stretching surface with chemical reaction and heat source. Using the similarity transformations, the governing equations are transformed into a set of non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODE’s). The resulting equations are then solved numerically by using the shooting method along with Runge-Kutta fourth order integration scheme. Numerical results for the velocity, temperature and concentration distributions as well as the skin-friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are discussed in detail and displayed graphically for various physical parameters.… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.1

Abstract An analysis is performed to investigate the effects of Joule heating and thermal diffusion on unsteady, viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting MHD heat and mass transfer free convection Casson fluid flow past an oscillating semi-infinite vertical moving porous plate in the presence of heat source/sink and an applied transverse magnetic field. Initially it is assumed that the plate and surrounding fluid at the same temperature and concentration at all the points in stationary condition in the entire flow region. Thereafter a constant temperature is given to the plate hence the buoyancy effect is supporting the fluid to move in upward direction… More >
