    M. Sathish Kumar, N. Sandeep* , B. Rushi Kumar

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.9, pp. 1-6, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.9.10

Abstract An analysis is presented to analyze the momentum and heat transfer behaviour of the laminar wall jet flow of a hydromagnetic flow due to plate with nonlinear thermal radiation and convective boundary condition. The governing Partial differential equations are converted as ordinary differential equations with the aid of similarity transformation. Further, the transformed equation is resolved using the bvc5c Matlab package. The effect of various pertinent parameters on momentum and temperature fields along with the local Nusselt number is discussed with the help of numerical and graphical illustrations. It is found that the Biotnumbereffectively enhances the heat transfer rate. More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.9, pp. 1-5, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.9.9

Abstract The present work is devoted to study the numerical simulation of steady magnetohydrodynamic flow and heat transfer of an Eyring-Powell fluid over a stretching sheet with viscous dissipation. The fluid is taken to be two dimensional electrically conducting and the flow is induced by a stretching surface. The basic governing partial differential equations of non-Newtonian fluid are reduced into the coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations by using similarity transformations. The resulting ordinary differential equations are then solved numerically using shooting method with fourth order Runge- Kutta scheme. The effects of Hartmann number, Eckert number, Grashoff number and Eyring-Powell fluid parameters… More >

    Stanford Shateyi

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.9, pp. 1-6, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.9.7

Abstract The spectral relaxation method is employed to examine natural convective heat and mass transfer, MHD flow over a permeable moving vertical plate with convective boundary conditions in the presence of viscous dissipation, thermal radiation and chemical reaction. The governing partial differential equations were transformed into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations by using a similarity approach. The resultant dimensionless ordinary equations were numerically solved by employing an effective Relaxation spectral algorithm with Chebyshev scheme. The pertinent results are then displayed in tabular form and graphically More >

    Hamzeh T. Alkasasbeh*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.32

Abstract This paper focuses on the numerical solution for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of micropolar Casson fluid with thermal radiation over a horizontal circular cylinder. The nonlinear partial differential equations of the boundary layer are first transformed into a non-dimensional form and then solved numerically using an implicit finite difference scheme known as Keller-box method. The The effects of the emerging parameters, namely Casson fluid parameter, magnetic parameter, radiation parameter and micropolar parameter on the local Nusselt number and the local skin friction coefficient, as well as the temperature, velocity and angular velocity profiles are shown graphically and discussed. The present results… More >

    S.P. Samrat, C. Sulochana* , G.P. Ashwinkumar

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.31

Abstract This study reports the flow, thermal and concentration attributes of magnetic-nanofluids past an elongated plate with thermal radiation and chemical reaction. The flow considered is two-dimensional and time-dependent. The pressure gradient and ohmic heating terms are neglected in this analysis. The flow governing PDEs are transformed into ODEs using appropriate conversions. Further, the set of ODEs are solved analytically using perturbation technique. The flow quantities such as velocity, thermal and concentration fields are discussed under the influence of various pertinent parameters namely volume fraction of nanoparticle, magnetic field, stretching parameter, Soret number, radiation and chemical reaction with the assistance of… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.30

Abstract The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) mixed convection heat transfer in a non-Newtonian Powell-Erying fluid flow due to an exponentially shrinking porous sheet is investigated. Both assisting and opposing flows are considered. After use of the suitable transformations, the governing equations become non-similar ODEs. Numerical computations of resulting equations are obtained by very efficient shooting method for several values of involved parameters. The results exhibit that dual non-similar solutions can be found only when some amount of fluid mass is sucked from the flow field through the porous sheet. Many important results on the effect of external magnetic field on mixed convective flow… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.25

Abstract This manuscript presents an analytical investigation on unsteady MHD free convective viscous incompressible flow of electrically conducting Jeffery fluid with heat source, past an infinite vertical porous flat plate in slip flow regime. A uniform magnetic field perpendicular to the plate is applied. The presence of thermal radiation, heat source, radiation absorption and chemical reaction are included. The effects of flow parameters and thermo physical properties on the velocity temperature and concentration fields across the boundary layer are investigated. The forms of the wall Shear stress, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are derived. The results are shown in figures and… More >

The reduced, resulting highly nonlinear coupled ordinary differential equations are solved using the Matlab bvp4c package. The effects of various parameters on the dimensionless velocity, temperature, and concentration as well as on the skin friction coefficient and the rate… More >

INDUCED MAGNETIC FIELD INTERACTION IN FREE CONVECTIVE HEAT ANDMASS TRANSFER FLOW OF A CHEMICALLY REACTIVE HEAT GENERATING FLUID WITH THERMO-DIFFUSION AND DIFFUSION-THERMO EFFECTS

    Sanjib Senguptaa,*, Amrit Karmakarb

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-12, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.19

Abstract An exact analysis is made to study the magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) free convective flow of an electrically conducting and chemically reacting Newtonian, incompressible, viscous fluid, flowing past an infinite vertical plate with combined heat and mass transfer. An inclined magnetic field of uniform strength is applied to the plate. As the value of the magnetic Reynolds number is of comparable order of magnitude, the effect of induced magnetic field is being considered and on the other hand due to weak voltage difference caused by the very low polarization charges, the influence of electric field is considered to be neglected. Cross-diffusion effects,… More >
