Plasticizing Effect of Camellia oleifera Seed-Oil-Based Plasticizer on PVC Material Modification

    Qinghua Lao1,#, Hui Zhang1,#, Zhihong Wang2, Puyou Jia3, Yongquan Li1,*, Qiaoguang Li4,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.7, pp. 3025-3041, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.026646

Abstract In this study, as the plasticizer, Camellia oleifera seed-oil-based cyclohexyl ester (COSOCE) was prepared by the reaction of cyclohexene oxide and refined C. oleifera seed oil (RCOSO) obtained by acidification hydrolysis after saponification. In addition, the structure of the target product was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. COSOCE was used as plasticizer-modified polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membranes. The structure of the COSOCE-modified PVC membranes were characterized by Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The properties of the COSOCE-modified PVC membrane were characterized by contact angle measurements, universal testing machine, thermogravimetric… More >

Displacement Field Variable Modeling Method for Heterogeneous Materials in Wind Power Blade Core Plates

Ying He, Yongshuang Wen*, Xuemei Huang, Leian Zhang, Rujun Song, Chang Li

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.2, pp. 445-459, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.022223

Abstract In order to study the mechanical properties of the heterogeneous core plate of the wind turbine blade, a modeling method of the core plate based on displacement field variables is proposed. Firstly, the wind turbine blade core plate was modeled according to the theory of modeling heterogeneous material characteristics. Secondly, the three-point bending finite element model of the wind turbine blade core plate was solved by the display dynamic equation to obtain the deformation pattern and force-deformation relationship of the core plate. Finally, the three-point bending static test was conducted to compare with the finite element analysis. The test results… More >

The Promoting Effect of Multifunctional Groups on the Thermal and Mechanical Properties of PVC Materials

    Mei Wang1,*, Xinzhu Fan1, Xianghai Song2, Quan Bu1,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.2, pp. 867-880, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.022996

Abstract The development of PVC materials grafted with mannich base originated from myrcene (P-MAM-g, where the mannich base derived from myrcene is abbreviated as MAM) via green and effective synthetic methods is a good strategy to avoid unacceptable discoloration and deterioration of thermal and mechanical properties caused by autocatalytic dehydrochlorination (DHC) during PVC processing. In this study, MAM with double bonds, amino groups, ester groups, and phospholipid groups was introduced into the chains of PVC to improve the thermal stability of PVC. The experimental results showed that the covalent attachment of MAM to PVC enhanced both the initial and the long-term… More >
