    ABSTRACT

Test investigation on fish-shaped pile subjected to torque in silt

    Lianhua Yuan

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.20, No.4, pp. 103-104, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.020.103

Abstract The torsional capacity of general circular section pile comes mainly from the tangential friction between pile and soil. But the pile - soil interface can provide a limited tangential friction. So the bearing capacity of general circular cross section pile is less. Pile does not bear more torque at a small torsion angle. Then the torsion angle of the pile develops rapidly.

This report presents a experiment on the transformed pile subjected to torque. In this experiment, the steel pipe pile with a closed end is welded with pairs of steel flank pieces on the side from top to… More >

Design of Piled embankment and Settlement Control

    Renpeng Chen

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.20, No.4, pp. 101-102, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.020.101

Abstract In China, high-speed transportation infrastructure, including high-speed railways and highways, develops rapidly in recent years. The standard for post-construction settlement of the high-speed transportation infrastructure is restrict with the considerations of safety and comfort. Piled embankments are widely used over the deep soft deposits. The piles that support the embankment are exposed not only to the heavy loading from the embankment self-weight, but also to the cyclic loading induced by high-speed vehicles through their service time.

In present work, the model tests on soil arching were performed and a method for anticipating the loads carried by the piles was… More >

Large-scale model tests on high-rise platform pile groups under cyclic lateral load

    Gu Ming

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 97-98, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.020.097

Abstract With the rapid development of the ocean economy in our country, more and more offshore structures appear in recent years, and high-rise platform pile group is one of the conventional forms of these structures. A large-scale physical model test was carried out to study the bearing characteristics of high-rise platform pile group subjected to cyclic lateral load such as wave, tidewater and wind, etc. Two sets of pile group tests under lateral load were conducted in QianTang silts, which consist of nine steel-pipes in a closely-spaced arrangement. The group effect of pile groups, and its variation under cyclic loading conditions… More >

    Shengcai Li1,*, Jun Tang1,2, Lin Guo3

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.13, No.1, pp. 61-84, 2019, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2019.06058

Abstract The simplified mechanical model and finite element model are established on the basis of the measured results and analysis of the grouting pile deformation monitoring, surface horizontal displacement and vertical displacement monitoring, deep horizontal displacement (inclinometer) monitoring, soil pressure monitoring and seepage pressure monitoring in the lower reaches of Wuan River regulation project in Shishi, Fujian Province. The mechanical behavior and deformation performance of mould-bag pile retaining wall formed after controlled cement grouting in the silty stratum of the test section are analyzed and compared. The results show that the use of controlled cement grouting mould-bag pile technology is to… More >
