The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.2, No.4, pp. 111-118, 2007, DOI:10.3970/icces.2007.002.111

Abstract This paper reviews numerical methods that are currently available to simulate bird strike as well as the theory of the event. It also summarizes important parameters and provides guidelines as to how to set up the analysis and how to evaluate a model. The information provided is based on physical properties and available results regarding a bird and its behaviour upon impact. The simulations have been performed with LS-DYNA 970 but can be done in similar dynamic finite elements analysis codes. More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.10, pp. 915-939, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.07183

Abstract Biodiesel is a fossil fuel that is in demand to be developed because it is bio-renewable, biodegradable and environmentally friendly. Biodiesel produced from the transesterification reaction of vege Tab. oil using a base catalyst. CaO is the most developed catalyst for the reaction of transesterification of oil into biodiesel because it is cheap, the process is easy and has a high level of alkalinity. CaO is a cheap catalyst because it is easily obtained from natural ingredients. The use of CaO catalysts in the reaction formation of biodiesel continues to develop through modification with various porous materials and different oxide… More >

Review on Connections for Original Bamboo Structures

    Chaokun Hong1a,2, Haitao Li1a,2,*, Rodolfo Lorenzo3, Gang Wu1b, Ileana Corbi4, Ottavia Corbi4, Zhenhua Xiong5, Dong Yang1a,2, Huizhong Zhang1a,2

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.8, pp. 713-730, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.07647

Abstract Bamboo is a green construction material in line with sustainable development strategies. The use of raw bamboo in architecture has existed since ancient times. In the long development years of original bamboo buildings, many areas in the world gradually formed unique bamboo buildings, which have become an important local cultural feature. For building structures, joints are the key to ensure structural load transfer. Because of hollow and thin-walled material property of bamboo, the connection in raw bamboo buildings has always been a major difficulty and problem in the application of bamboo, which seriously hinders the development of original bamboo structures.… More >

Deep Learning Trackers Review and Challenge

    Yongxiang Gu1, Beijing Chen1, Xu Cheng1,*, Yifeng Zhang2,3, Jingang Shi4

Journal of Information Hiding and Privacy Protection, Vol.1, No.1, pp. 23-33, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jihpp.2019.05938

Abstract Recently, deep learning has achieved great success in visual tracking. The goal of this paper is to review the state-of-the-art tracking methods based on deep learning. First, we categorize the existing deep learning based trackers into three classes according to network structure, network function and network training. For each categorize, we analyze papers in different categories. Then, we conduct extensive experiments to compare the representative methods on the popular OTB-100, TC-128 and VOT2015 benchmarks. Based on our observations. We conclude that: (1) The usage of the convolutional neural network (CNN) model could significantly improve the tracking performance. (2) The trackers… More >

    Journal of New Media, Vol.1, No.1, pp. 45-50, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2019.05786

Abstract As an effective error correction technology, the Low Density Parity Check Code (LDPC) has been researched and applied by many scholars. Meanwhile, LDPC codes have some prominent performances, which involves close to the Shannon limit, achieving a higher bit rate and a fast decoding. However, whether these excellent characteristics are suitable for the resource-constrained Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), it seems to be seldom concerned. In this article, we review the LDPC code’s structure brief.ly, and them classify and summarize the LDPC codes’ construction and decoding algorithms, finally, analyze the applications of LDPC code for WSN. We believe that our contributions… More >
