Research on Carbon Emission for Preventive Maintenance of Wind Turbine Gearbox Based on Stochastic Differential Equation

Hongsheng Su, Lixia Dong*, Xiaoying Yu, Kai Liu

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.4, pp. 973-986, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.043497

Abstract Time based maintenance (TBM) and condition based maintenance (CBM) are widely applied in many large wind farms to optimize the maintenance issues of wind turbine gearboxes, however, these maintenance strategies do not take into account environmental benefits during full life cycle such as carbon emissions issues. Hence, this article proposes a carbon emissions computing model for preventive maintenance activities of wind turbine gearboxes to solve the issue. Based on the change of the gearbox state during operation and the influence of external random factors on the gearbox state, a stochastic differential equation model (SDE) and corresponding carbon emission model are… More > Graphic Abstract

DRUG RELEASE IN TRANSDERMAL DEVICES: A BRIEF PARAMETRIC STUDY

    F.C.C. Almeidaa , P.M. da Silvab,c, M.N.C. Coelho Pinheiroa,d,*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.12, pp. 1-9, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.12.16

Abstract In the last decades, polymeric systems were essayed and applied successfully as vehicles for transdermal delivery devices of active principles. Applications in contraception, pain control, and smoking cessation are already frequent. A crucial aspect in the development of new formulations is the maintenance of the therapeutic drug concentration range for long periods. Recognizing this topic as interesting and challenging, simple models to describe drug release from a transdermal device were developed with the purpose to perform a parametric sensitivity analysis. Assuming drug diffusion within the polymeric delivery system as the dominant mechanism the models were developed and implemented. Transdermal patches… More >

TRS Scheduling for Improved QoS Performance in Cloud System

    G. John Samuel Babu1, M. Baskar2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.1, pp. 1547-1559, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.033300

Abstract Numerous methods are analysed in detail to improve task scheduling and data security performance in the cloud environment. The methods involve scheduling according to the factors like makespan, waiting time, cost, deadline, and popularity. However, the methods are inappropriate for achieving higher scheduling performance. Regarding data security, existing methods use various encryption schemes but introduce significant service interruption. This article sketches a practical Real-time Application Centric TRS (Throughput-Resource utilization–Success) Scheduling with Data Security (RATRSDS) model by considering all these issues in task scheduling and data security. The method identifies the required resource and their claim time by receiving the service… More >

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.4, pp. 1169-1182, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.018628

Abstract The bionic structure drip irrigation emitter (BSDE) is a new-type emitter, by which better hydraulic performances can be obtained. In the present work, twenty-five sets of orthogonal test schemes were implemented to analyze the influence of the geometric parameters of the flow channel on the hydraulic characteristics and energy dissipation efficiency of this emitter. Through numerical simulations and verification tests, the flow index and energy dissipation coefficient were obtained. According to the results, the flow index of the BSDE is 0.4757–0.5067. The energy dissipation coefficient under the pressure head of 5–15 m is 584–1701. The verification test has shown that… More >

Role of pyroptotic cell death in the pathogenesis of NASH

Yuguo YI, Jiamin ZHENG, Yang ZHOU, Zhiqin LIU, Dan WENG*

    BIOCELL, Vol.44, No.1, pp. 7-11, 2020, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2020.08686

Abstract Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) represents a huge threat to public health of the whole world. Around 25% of NAFLD patients will progress to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which has been predicted to be the main reason for liver transplantation in the United States in 2020. Extensive effort has been devoted to investigating the underlying molecular mechanisms of NASH pathogenesis and developing new promising treatments. Recent studies have demonstrated that pyroptosis, an inflammatory programmed cell death mediated by inflammasome and gasdermin-D (GSDMD), is involved in the development and progression of NASH. This review aims to summarize the recent findings regarding the… More >
