    N. Govindaraj, A. K. Singh, Pankaj Shukla

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.15, pp. 1-8, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.15.20

Abstract A numerical study of fluid flow over stretching sheet with temperature dependent properties has been performed induced by mixed convection. The significant variation of the Prandtl number and viscosity in the temperature is observed [see table 1]. Viscosity and Prandtl number are vary in inverse of the linear function. The physical problem modeled in the mathematical equations in dimension form, which is converted to the non-dimensional equations by applying similarity transformations and suitable boundary conditions. The mathematical modelling problem is transformed PDE’s are numerically solved using Quasilinearization technique and FDM. The current numerical data has… More >

Muhammad Nazim Tufaila , Musharafa Saleema,b,*, Qasim Ali Chaudhryb,†

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.15, pp. 1-10, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.15.14

Abstract This methodology presented the unsteady three-dimensional laminar flow since Hall effects inducing the cross flow in z-axis. The boundary layer and the low magnetic Reynolds number approximations are used to simplify the system of equations derived from the constitutive laws. The upper-convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid model used for Hall effects with unsteady heat transfer, which passed through the infinite stretching sheet. This flow model has intensified with the effects of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD), thermal radiation and heat generation-absorption. Here, we selected the two-parameter Lie scaling transformations to convert the highly non-linear partial differential equations (PDEs) to More >

    K. Ganesh Kumar1, *, S. Manjunatha2, N. G. Rudraswamy3

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.16, No.2, pp. 131-146, 2020, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2020.0152 - 21 April 2020

Abstract Boundary layer flows and melting heat transfer of a Prandtl fluid over a stretching surface in the presence of fluid particle suspensions has been investigated. The converted set of boundary layer equations are solved numerically by RKF-45 method. Obtained numerical results for flow and heat transfer characteristics are deliberated for various physical parameters. Furthermore, the skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number are also presented in Tabs. 2 and 3. It is found that the heat transfer rates are advanced in occurrence of nonlinear radiation compered to linear radiation. Also, it is noticed that velocity and More >

    Anupam Bhandari1,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.15, No.5, pp. 557-582, 2019, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2019.04108

Abstract The present research aims to examine the steady state of the two-dimensional incompressible magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) flow of a micropolar nanofluid over a stretching sheet in the presence of chemical reactions, radiation and viscous dissipation. The effect of particle rotation is taken into account. A conducting fluid passes over a semi-infinite plate with variable temperature while a magnetic field is directed in the transverse direction. Results for velocity, angular momentum, temperature and concentration profiles are obtained for various values of Eckert number, Schmidt number, Prandtl number, thermophosis parameter and Brownian motion parameters. A similarity approach is… More >

    N. Vijaya1, G. Venkata Ramana Reddy1, *, Y. Hara Krishna1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.15, No.3, pp. 233-251, 2019, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2019.03727

Abstract This paper investigates the problem of oblique hydro magnetic stagnation point flow of an electrically conducting Casson fluid over stretching sheet embedded in a doubly stratified medium in the presence of thermal radiation and heat source/absorption with first order chemical reaction. It is assumed that the fluid impinges on the wall obliquely. Similarity variables were used to convert the partial differential equations to ordinary differential equations. The transformed ordinary differential equations are solved numerically using Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg method with shooting technique. It is observed that a boundary layer is formed when the stretching velocity of the… More >

    G. Vinod Kumar, R. V. M. S. S. Kiran Kumar* , S. V. K. Varma

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.23

Abstract The steady boundary layer stagnation flow of a Casson fluid over a stretching sheet with slips boundary conditions in the presence of viscous dissipation, Joule heating and the first order destructive chemical reaction is analyzed. The governing flow problem is based on momentum equation, energy equation, and mass diffusion equation and these are further simplified with the help of similarity transformations. The reduced, resulting highly nonlinear coupled ordinary differential equations are solved using the Matlab bvp4c package. The effects of various parameters on the dimensionless velocity, temperature, and concentration as well as on the skin More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-12, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.5

Abstract This paper numerically investigates the magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer convective flow of an electrically conducting fluid in the presence of buoyancy ratio, heat source, variable magnetic field and radiation over an inclined nonlinear stretching sheet under convective surface boundary conditions. The Rosseland approximation is adopted for thermal radiation effects and the non-uniform magnetic field applied in a transverse direction to the flow. The coupled nonlinear momentum, thermal and species concentration governing boundary layer equations are rendered into a system of third order momentum and second order energy and mass diffusion ordinary differential equations via similarity transformations… More >

    I.S. Oyelakina,† , S. Mondala,* , P. Sibandaa

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-9, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.37

Abstract In this paper we study the effects of thermal radiation, heat and mass transfer on the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) flow of a three dimensional Casson nanofluid. The flow is subject to partial slip and convective conditions. The traditional model which includes the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis is revised so that the nanofluid particle volume fraction on the boundary is not actively controlled. In this respect the problem is more realistic. The dimensionless governing equations were solved using the spectral quasi-linearisation method. This work aims to fill the gap in existing literature by showing the More >
