    Jawad Ali1,*, Ioan-Lucian Popa2,3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.145, No.1, pp. 857-889, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.064604 - 30 October 2025

Abstract With the rapid growth of urbanization, smart city development has become a strategic priority worldwide, requiring complex and uncertain decision-making processes. In this context, advanced decision-support tools are essential to evaluate and prioritize competing initiatives effectively. To support effective prioritization of smart city initiatives under uncertainty, this study introduces a robust decision-making framework based on the t-arbicular fuzzy (t-AF) set—a recent extension of the t-spherical fuzzy set that incorporates an additional parameter, the radius , to enhance the representation of uncertainty. Dombi-based operational laws are formulated within this context, leading to the development of four… More >

    Xingsi Xue1, Himanshu Dhumras2,*, Garima Thakur3, Rakesh Kumar Bajaj4, Varun Shukla5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.84, No.1, pp. 583-606, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.066310 - 09 June 2025

Abstract Ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly environment is essential for promoting a healthy and balanced social life. However, decision-making in such contexts often involves handling vague, imprecise, and uncertain information. To address this challenge, this study presents a novel multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach based on picture fuzzy hypersoft sets (PFHSS), integrating the flexibility of Schweizer-Sklar triangular norm-based aggregation operators. The proposed aggregation mechanisms—weighted average and weighted geometric operators—are formulated using newly defined operational laws under the PFHSS framework and are proven to satisfy essential mathematical properties, such as idempotency, monotonicity, and boundedness. The decision-making model systematically… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.142, No.1, pp. 759-811, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.057888 - 17 December 2024

Abstract Accurate medical diagnosis, which involves identifying diseases based on patient symptoms, is often hindered by uncertainties in data interpretation and retrieval. Advanced fuzzy set theories have emerged as effective tools to address these challenges. In this paper, new mathematical approaches for handling uncertainty in medical diagnosis are introduced using q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets (q-ROFS) and interval-valued q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets (IVq-ROFS). Three aggregation operators are proposed in our methodologies: the q-ROF weighted averaging (q-ROFWA), the q-ROF weighted geometric (q-ROFWG), and the q-ROF weighted neutrality averaging (q-ROFWNA), which enhance decision-making under uncertainty. These operators are paired More > Graphic Abstract

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.2, pp. 1829-1862, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030687 - 29 January 2024

Abstract Green supplier selection is an important debate in green supply chain management (GSCM), attracting global attention from scholars, especially companies and policymakers. Companies frequently search for new ideas and strategies to assist them in realizing sustainable development. Because of the speculative character of human opinions, supplier selection frequently includes unreliable data, and the interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy soft set (IVPFSS) provides an exceptional capacity to cope with excessive fuzziness, inconsistency, and inexactness through the decision-making procedure. The main goal of this study is to come up with new operational laws for interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy soft numbers More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.3, pp. 2795-2844, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028963 - 03 August 2023

Abstract The primary goal of this research is to determine the optimal agricultural field selection that would most effectively support manufacturing producers in manufacturing production while accounting for unpredictability and reliability in their decision-making. The PFS is known to address the levels of participation and non-participation. To begin, we introduce the novel concept of a PFZN, which is a hybrid structure of Pythagorean fuzzy sets and the ZN. The PFZN is graded in terms of membership and non-membership, as well as reliability, which provides a strong advice in real-world decision support concerns. The PFZN is a… More >

Abstract In this paper, a decision-making problem with a q-rung orthopair fuzzy hypersoft environment is developed, and two operators of ordered weighted average and induced ordered weighted average are developed. Several fundamental features are also derived. The induced ordered weighted average operator is essential in a q-ROFH environment as the induced ordered aggregation operators are special cases of the existing aggregation operators that already exist in q-ROFH environments. The main function of these operators is to help decision-makers gain a complete understanding of uncertain facts. The proposed aggregation operator is applied to a decision-making problem, with More > Graphic Abstract

Aggregation Operators for Interval-Valued Pythagorean Fuzzy Hypersoft Set with Their Application to Solve MCDM Problem

    Rana Muhammad Zulqarnain1, Imran Siddique2, Rifaqat Ali3, Fahd Jarad4,5,6,*, Aiyared Iampan7

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.1, pp. 619-651, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.022767 - 29 September 2022

Abstract Experts use Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft sets (PFHSS) in their investigations to resolve the indeterminate and imprecise information in the decision-making process. Aggregation operators (AOs) perform a leading role in perceptivity among two circulations of prospect and pull out concerns from that perception. In this paper, we extend the concept of PFHSS to interval-valued PFHSS (IVPFHSS), which is the generalized form of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft set. The IVPFHSS competently deals with uncertain and ambagious information compared to the existing interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy soft set. It is the most potent method for amplifying fuzzy data in… More >

Abstract Fuzzy sets have undergone several expansions and generalisations in the literature, including Atanasov’s intuitionistic fuzzy sets, type 2 fuzzy sets, and fuzzy multisets, to name a few. They can be regarded as fuzzy multisets from a formal standpoint; nevertheless, their interpretation differs from the two other approaches to fuzzy multisets that are currently available. Hesitating fuzzy sets (HFS) are very useful if consultants have hesitation in dealing with group decision-making problems between several possible memberships. However, these possible memberships can be not only crisp values in [0,1], but also interval values during a practical evaluation… More >

    Rui Yong1,2,*, Jun Ye1,2, Shigui Du1,2, Aqin Zhu1, Yingying Zhang1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.132, No.2, pp. 569-584, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019509 - 15 June 2022

Abstract The simplified neutrosophic number (SNN) can represent uncertain, imprecise, incomplete, and inconsistent information that exists in scientific, technological, and engineering fields. Hence, it is a useful tool for describing truth, falsity, and indeterminacy information in multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) problems. To suit decision makers’ preference selection, the operational flexibility of aggregation operators shows its importance in dealing with the flexible decision-making problems in the SNN environment. To solve this problem, this paper develops the Aczel-Alsina aggregation operators of SNNs for MADM problems in view of the Aczel-Alsina operational flexibility. First, we define the Aczel-Alsina operations More >
