Predicting the Breed of Dogs and Cats with Fine-Tuned Keras Applications

    I.-Hung Wang1, Mahardi2, Kuang-Chyi Lee2,*, Shinn-Liang Chang1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.3, pp. 995-1005, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.019020 - 20 August 2021

Abstract The images classification is one of the most common applications of deep learning. Images of dogs and cats are mostly used as examples for image classification models, as they are relatively easy for the human eyes to recognize. However, classifying the breed of a dog or a cat has its own complexity. In this paper, a fine-tuned pre-trained model of a Keras’ application was built with a new dataset of dogs and cats to predict the breed of identified dogs or cats. Keras applications are deep learning models, which have been previously trained with general More >

    Yen Liang Tung1, Zubair Ahmad2, Eisa Mahmoudi2,*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.39, No.3, pp. 351-363, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.014270 - 12 August 2021

Abstract The heavy-tailed distributions are very useful and play a major role in actuary and financial management problems. Actuaries are often searching for such distributions to provide the best fit to financial and economic data sets. In the current study, a prominent method to generate new distributions useful for modeling heavy-tailed data is considered. The proposed family is introduced using trigonometric function and can be named as the Arcsine-X family of distributions. For the purposes of the demonstration, a specific sub-model of the proposed family, called the Arcsine-Weibull distribution is considered. The maximum likelihood estimation method is… More >

Design and Implementation of T-Shaped Planar Antenna for MIMO Applications

    T. Prabhu1,*, S. Chenthur Pandian2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.2, pp. 2549-2562, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.018793 - 21 July 2021

Abstract This paper proposes, demonstrates, and describes a basic T-shaped Multi-Input and Multi-Output (MIMO) antenna with a resonant frequency of 3.1 to 10.6 GHz. Compared with the U-shaped antenna, the mutual coupling is minimized by using a T-shaped patch antenna. The T-shaped patch antenna shapes filter properties are tested to achieve separation over the 3.1 to 10.6 GHz frequency range. The parametric analysis, including width, duration, and spacing, is designed in the MIMO applications for good isolation. On the FR4 substratum, the configuration of MIMO is simulated. The appropriate dielectric material ɛr = 4.4 is introduced using More >

Abstract Physical health plays an important role in overall well-being of the human beings. It is the most observed dimension of health among others such as social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and environmental dimensions. Due to exponential increase in the development of wireless communication techniques, Internet of Things (IoT) has effectively penetrated different aspects of human lives. Healthcare is one of the dynamic domains with ever-growing demands which can be met by IoT applications. IoT can be leveraged through several health service offerings such as remote health and monitoring services, aided living, personalized treatment, and so on.… More >

An Efficient GCD-Based Cancelable Biometric Algorithm for Single and Multiple Biometrics

    Naglaa F. Soliman1,2, Abeer D. Algarni1,*, Walid El-Shafai3, Fathi E. Abd El-Samie1,3, Ghada M. El Banby4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.2, pp. 1571-1595, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016980 - 21 July 2021

Abstract Cancelable biometrics are required in most remote access applications that need an authentication stage such as the cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) networks. The objective of using cancelable biometrics is to save the original ones from hacking attempts. A generalized algorithm to generate cancelable templates that is applicable on both single and multiple biometrics is proposed in this paper to be considered for cloud and IoT applications. The original biometric is blurred with two co-prime operators. Hence, it can be recovered as the Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) between its two blurred versions. Minimal changes… More >

A Novel Automatic Meal Delivery System

    Jhe-Wei Lin1, Cheng-Yan Siao1, Ting-Hsuan Chien2,*, Rong-Guey Chang1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.29, No.3, pp. 685-695, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.018254 - 01 July 2021

Abstract Since the rapid growth of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (or Industry 4.0), robots have been widely used in many applications. In the catering industry, robots are used to replace people to do routine jobs. Because meal is an important part of the catering industry, we aim to design and develop a robot to deliver meals for saving cost and improving a restaurant’s performance in this paper. However, for the existing meal delivery system, the guests must make their meals by themselves. To let the food delivery system become more user-friendly, we integrate an automatic guided… More >

    Gamal M. Ibrahim1, Amal S. Hassan2, Ehab M. Almetwally3,*, Hisham M. Almongy4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.29, No.2, pp. 353-371, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.017586 - 16 June 2021

Abstract We introduce a new two-parameter lifetime model, referred to alpha power transformed inverted Topp-Leone, derived by combining the alpha power transformation-G family with the inverted Topp-Leone distribution. Structural properties of the proposed distribution are implemented like; quantile function, residual and reversed residual life, Rényi entropy measure, moments and incomplete moments. The maximum likelihood, weighted least squares, maximum product of spacing, and Bayesian methods of estimation are considered. A simulation study is worked out to evaluate the restricted sample properties of the proposed distribution. Numerical results showed that the Bayesian estimates give more accurate results than… More >

Extended Rama Distribution: Properties and Applications

    Khaldoon M. Alhyasat1,*, Kamarulzaman Ibrahim1, Amer Al-Omari2, Mohd Aftar Abu Bakar1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.39, No.1, pp. 55-67, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.014909 - 10 June 2021

Abstract In this paper, the Rama distribution (RD) is considered, and a new model called extended Rama distribution (ERD) is suggested. The new model involves the sum of two independent Rama distributed random variables. The probability density function (pdf) and cumulative distribution function (cdf) are obtained and analyzed. It is found that the new model is skewed to the right. Several mathematical and statistical properties are derived and proved. The properties studied include moments, coefficient of variation, coefficient of skewness, coefficient of kurtosis and moment generating function. Some simulations are undertaken to illustrate the behavior of More >
