Multi-Kernel Bandwidth Based Maximum Correntropy Extended Kalman Filter for GPS Navigation

    Amita Biswal, Dah-Jing Jwo*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.144, No.1, pp. 927-944, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.067299 - 31 July 2025

Abstract The extended Kalman filter (EKF) is extensively applied in integrated navigation systems that combine the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and strap-down inertial navigation system (SINS). However, the performance of the EKF can be severely impacted by non-Gaussian noise and measurement noise uncertainties, making it difficult to achieve optimal GNSS/INS integration. Dealing with non-Gaussian noise remains a significant challenge in filter development today. Therefore, the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) is utilized in EKFs to manage heavy-tailed measurement noise. However, its capability to handle non-Gaussian process noise and unknown disturbances remains largely unexplored. In this paper,… More >

    Sarmad K. Ibrahim1,*, Saif A. Abdulhussien2, Hazim M. ALkargole1, Hassan H. Qasim1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.84, No.3, pp. 5223-5238, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.066548 - 30 July 2025

Abstract The explosive growth of data traffic and heterogeneous service requirements of 5G networks—covering Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC), and Massive Machine Type Communication (mMTC)—present tremendous challenges to conventional methods of bandwidth allocation. A new deep reinforcement learning-based (DRL-based) bandwidth allocation system for real-time, dynamic management of 5G radio access networks is proposed in this paper. Unlike rule-based and static strategies, the proposed system dynamically updates itself according to shifting network conditions such as traffic load and channel conditions to maximize the achievable throughput, fairness, and compliance with QoS requirements. An Asynchronous Data Transmission Policy for Task Offloading in Edge-Computing Enabled Ultra-Dense IoT

Dayong Wang1,*, Kamalrulnizam Bin Abu Bakar1, Babangida Isyaku2, Liping Lei3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.81, No.3, pp. 4465-4483, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.059616 - 19 December 2024

Abstract In recent years, task offloading and its scheduling optimization have emerged as widely discussed and significant topics. The multi-objective optimization problems inherent in this domain, particularly those related to resource allocation, have been extensively investigated. However, existing studies predominantly focus on matching suitable computational resources for task offloading requests, often overlooking the optimization of the task data transmission process. This inefficiency in data transmission leads to delays in the arrival of task data at computational nodes within the edge network, resulting in increased service times due to elevated network transmission latencies and idle computational resources.… More >

Khawaja Tahir Mehmood1,2,*, Shahid Atiq1, Intisar Ali Sajjad3, Muhammad Majid Hussain4, Malik M. Abdul Basit2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.141, No.2, pp. 1673-1708, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.053903 - 27 September 2024

Abstract Software-Defined Networking (SDN), with segregated data and control planes, provides faster data routing, stability, and enhanced quality metrics, such as throughput (Th), maximum available bandwidth (Bd(max)), data transfer (DTransfer), and reduction in end-to-end delay (D(E-E)). This paper explores the critical work of deploying SDN in largescale Data Center Networks (DCNs) to enhance its Quality of Service (QoS) parameters, using logically distributed control configurations. There is a noticeable increase in Delay(E-E) when adopting SDN with a unified (single) control structure in big DCNs to handle Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) requests causing a reduction in network quality parameters (Bd(max), Th, DTransfer, D(E-E),… More > Graphic Abstract

Prediction of Bandwidth of Metamaterial Antenna Using Pearson Kernel-Based Techniques

    Sherly Alphonse1,*, S. Abinaya1, Sourabh Paul2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.3, pp. 3449-3467, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.046403 - 26 March 2024

Abstract The use of metamaterial enhances the performance of a specific class of antennas known as metamaterial antennas. The radiation cost and quality factor of the antenna are influenced by the size of the antenna. Metamaterial antennas allow for the circumvention of the bandwidth restriction for small antennas. Antenna parameters have recently been predicted using machine learning algorithms in existing literature. Machine learning can take the place of the manual process of experimenting to find the ideal simulated antenna parameters. The accuracy of the prediction will be primarily dependent on the model that is used. In… More >

Improved Beam Steering Method Using OAM Waves

    Nidal Qasem*, Ahmad Alamayreh

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 417-431, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.035603 - 20 January 2023

Abstract Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) is an intrinsic feature of electromagnetic waves which has recently found many applications in several areas in radio and optics. In this paper, we use OAM wave characteristics to present a simple method for beam steering over both elevation and azimuth planes. The design overcomes some limitations of traditional steering methods, such as limited dynamic range of steering, the design complexity, bulky size of the steering structure, the limited bandwidth of operation, and low gain. Based on OAM wave characteristics, the proposed steering method avoids design complexities by adopting a simple… More >

Ring Oscillator for 60 Meter Bandwidth

    Rachana Arya1,*, B. K. Singh2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 93-105, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.029220 - 20 January 2023

Abstract The 60-meter band range is tremendously useful in telecommunication, military and governmental applications. The I. T. U. (International Telecommunication Union) required isolationism to former radio frequency services because the various frequency bands are extremely overloaded. The allocation of new frequency bands are a lengthy procedure as well as time taking. As a result, the researchers use bidirectional, amateur radio frequency communication for 60-meter band, usually the frequency slot of 5250–5450 KHz, although the entire band is not essentially obtainable for all countries. For transmission and reception of these frequencies, a local oscillator is used in… More >

Abstract This article presents an integrated current mode configurable analog block (CAB) system for field-programmable analog array (FPAA). The proposed architecture is based on the complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) transistor level design where MOSFET transistors operating in the saturation region are adopted. The proposed CAB architecture is designed to implement six of the widely used current mode operations in analog processing systems: addition, subtraction, integration, multiplication, division, and pass operation. The functionality of the proposed CAB is demonstrated through these six operations, where each operation is chosen based on the user’s selection in the CAB interface… More >
