    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.1, pp. 217-228, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000057

Abstract Nowadays, more and more smartphones communicate to each other’s by using some popular Next Generation Instant Messaging (NGIM) applications (Apps) which are based on the blockchain (BC) technologies, such as XChat, via IPv4/IPv6 dual stack network environments. Owing to XChat addresses are soon to be implemented as stealth addresses, any DoS attack activated form malicious XChat node will be treated as a kind of DDoS attack. Therefore, the huge NGIM usages with stealth addresses in IPv4/IPv6 dual stack mobile networks, mobile devices will suffer the Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack from Internet. The probing method is deployed in this… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.1, pp. 155-170, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000052

Abstract The Internet-of-Things (IoT) paradigm faces new and genuine challenges and problems associated, mainly, with the ubiquitous access to the Internet, the huge number of devices involved and the heterogeneity of the components making up this new global network. In this context, protecting these systems against cyberattacks and cybercrimes has turn into a basic issue. In relation to this topic, most proposed solutions in the literature are focused on security; however other aspects have to be considered (such as privacy or trust). Therefore, in this paper we define a theoretical framework for trust in IoT scenarios, including a mathematical formalization and… More >

Abstract As an extension of the traditional encryption technology, information hiding has been increasingly used in the fields of communication and network media, and the covert communication technology has gradually developed. The blockchain technology that has emerged in recent years has the characteristics of decentralization and tamper resistance, which can effectively alleviate the disadvantages and problems of traditional covert communication. However, its combination with covert communication thus far has been mostly at the theoretical level. The BLOCCE method, as an early result of the combination of blockchain and covert communication technology, has the problems of low information embedding efficiency, the use… More >

A Key Recovery System Based on Password-Protected Secret Sharing in a Permissioned Blockchain

    Gyeong-Jin Ra1, Chang-Hyun Roh1, Im-Yeong Lee1, *

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.1, pp. 153-170, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011293

Abstract In today’s fourth industrial revolution, various blockchain technologies are being actively researched. A blockchain is a peer-to-peer data-sharing structure lacking central control. If a user wishes to access stored data, she/he must employ a private key to prove ownership of the data and create a transaction. If the private key is lost, blockchain data cannot be accessed. To solve such a problem, public blockchain users can recover the key using a wallet program. However, key recovery in a permissioned blockchain (PBC) has been but little studied. The PBC server is Honest-but-Curious (HBC), and should not be able to learn anything… More >

A Food Traceability Framework Based on Permissioned Blockchain

    Jiuliang Liu1,*, Xingming Sun1, Ke Song2

    Journal of Cyber Security, Vol.2, No.2, pp. 107-113, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jcs.2020.011222

Abstract In recent years, food safety problems have become increasingly serious. The traditional supply chain traceability solution faces some serious problems, such as centralization, data tampering, and high communication costs. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a food traceability framework based on permissioned blockchain. The proposed framework is decentralized, and the supply chain data of the framework cannot be tampered with. The framework divides supply chain entities into five organizations, and each organization deploys its own chaincode onto the blockchain. The chaincode specifies the query permission of each organization, which can effectively protect the user’s sensitive information. The PBFT consensus… More >

Cipherchain: A Secure and Efficient Ciphertext Blockchain via mPECK

    Hailin Chen1, Gang Xu3, Yuling Chen2, Xiubo Chen1, 2, *, Yixian Yang1, 2, Ruibin Fan4, Kaixiang Zhang4, Huizhong Li4

    Journal of Quantum Computing, Vol.2, No.1, pp. 57-83, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jqc.2020.09291

Abstract Most existing blockchain schemes are based on the design concept “openness and transparency” to realize data security, which usually require transaction data to be presented in the form of plaintext. However, it inevitably brings the issues with respect to data privacy and operating performance. In this paper, we proposed a novel blockchain scheme called Cipherchain, which can process and maintain transaction data in the form of ciphertext while the characteristics of immutability and auditability are guaranteed. Specifically in our scheme, transactions can be encrypted locally based on a searchable encryption scheme called multi-user public key encryption with conjunctive keyword search… More >

    Post-Quantum Blockchain over Lattice

    Xiao Zhang1, 2, 3, Faguo Wu1, 2, 3, Wang Yao1, 2, 3, *, Wenhua Wang4, Zhiming Zheng1, 2, 3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.63, No.2, pp. 845-859, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.08008

Abstract Blockchain is an emerging decentralized architecture and distributed computing paradigm underlying Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and has recently attracted intensive attention from governments, financial institutions, high-tech enterprises, and the capital markets. Its cryptographic security relies on asymmetric cryptography, such as ECC, RSA. However, with the surprising development of quantum technology, asymmetric cryptography schemes mentioned above would become vulnerable. Recently, lattice-based cryptography scheme was proposed to be secure against attacks in the quantum era. In 2018, with the aid of Bonsai Trees technology, Yin et al. [Yin, Wen, Li et al. (2018)] proposed a lattice-based authentication method which can extend a… More >

Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) technology is rapidly evolving, but there is no trusted platform to protect user privacy, protect information between different IoT domains, and promote edge processing. Therefore, we integrate the blockchain technology into constructing trusted IoT platforms. However, the application of blockchain in IoT is hampered by the challenges posed by heavy computing processes. To solve the problem, we put forward a blockchain framework based on mobile edge computing, in which the blockchain mining tasks can be offloaded to nearby nodes or the edge computing service providers and the encrypted hashes of blocks can be cached in the… More >
