    A Study on the Properties of Resin Transfer Molding Cyanate Ester and Its T800 Grade Carbon Fiber Composites

    Abstract The properties of resin transfer molding (RTM) cyanate ester and its T800 grade carbon fiber composites were studied with the rheometer, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), FT-IR, dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), mechanical property testing, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the temperature of cyanate ester suitable for RTM process was 70℃. Curing process of the resin was 130℃/2 h+160℃/2 h+200℃/2 h+220℃/4 h. Glass transition temperature and heat decomposition temperature of the cured resin are 289℃ and 415℃, respectively.     Abstract This study developed a new technology for preparing high-chromium cast iron (HCCI)/low-carbon steel (LCS) wear-resistant composite plates by hot rolling at a 1050 °C and a rolling speed of 0.2 m/s.     Impact of Natural Oil-Based Recycled Polyols on Properties of Cast Polyurethanes

    Abstract In this study, castor oil, rapeseed oil and medium chain triglycerides of coconut oil, were transesterified by means of 2-ethyl-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol (trimethylolpropane) and consequently used to convert polycarbonate waste from end-of-life vehicles into liquid polyols. The prepared recycled polyols, composed uniquely of renewable and recycled components, had a hydroxyl number of ca. 250 mg KOH·g−1.     Abstract Doping lignin with carbon nanotubes is a promising strategy for cost-effective high-performance carbon fibers. We investigate the intermolecular interaction potential of CNT and organosolv lignin with two main approaches. Experimentally, oxidized purified multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and beech organosolv lignins and derivatives are analyzed with their Hansen solubility parameters (HSPs) to assess their mutual compatibility.
