Towards Aspect Based Components Integration Framework for Cyber-Physical System

    Sadia Ali1, Yaser Hafeez1, Muhammad Bilal2, Saqib Saeed3, Kyung Sup Kwak4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.1, pp. 653-668, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.018779

Abstract Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) comprise interactive computation, networking, and physical processes. The integrative environment of CPS enables the smart systems to be aware of the surrounding physical world. Smart systems, such as smart health care systems, smart homes, smart transportation, and smart cities, are made up of complex and dynamic CPS. The components integration development approach should be based on the divide and conquer theory. This way multiple interactive components can reduce the development complexity in CPS. As reusability enhances efficiency and consistency in CPS, encapsulation of component functionalities and a well-designed user interface is vital for the better end-user's Quality… More >

A New Action-Based Reasoning Approach for Playing Chess

Norhan Hesham, Osama Abu-Elnasr*, Samir Elmougy

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.1, pp. 175-190, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015168

Abstract Many previous research studies have demonstrated game strategies enabling virtual players to play and take actions mimicking humans. The Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) strategy tries to simulate human thinking regarding solving problems based on constructed knowledge. This paper suggests a new Action-Based Reasoning (ABR) strategy for a chess engine. This strategy mimics human experts’ approaches when playing chess, with the help of the CBR phases. This proposed engine consists of the following processes. Firstly, an action library compiled by parsing many grandmasters’ cases with their actions from different games is built. Secondly, this library reduces the search space by using two… More >

A Hybrid Modular Context-aware Services Adaptation for a Smart Living Room

Moeiz Miraouia, Sherif El-Etribyb, Chakib Tadjc, Abdulbasit Zaid Abida

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 299-308, 2018, DOI:10.1080/10798587.2017.1281565

Abstract Smart spaces have attracted considerable amount of interest over the past few years. The introduction of sensor networks, powerful electronics and communication infrastructures have helped a lot in the realization of smart homes. The main objective of smart homes is the automation of tasks that might be complex or tedious for inhabitants by distracting them from concentrating on setting and configuring home appliances. Such automation could improve comfort, energy savings, security, and tremendous benefits for elderly persons living alone or persons with disabilities. Context awareness is a key enabling feature for development of smart homes. It allows the automation task… More >
