    M. Hari Prabhu*, K. Sundararaju

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.3, pp. 2947-2958, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.032328

Abstract The power system is facing numerous issues when the distributed generation is added to the existing system. The existing power system has not been planned with flawless power quality control. These restrictions in the power transmission generation system are compensated by the use of devices such as the Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM), the Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) series/shunt compensators, etc. In this work, UPQC’s plan with the joint activity of photovoltaic (PV) exhibits is proposed. The proposed system is made out of series and shunt regulators and PV. A boost converter connects the DC link to the PV source,… More >

Abstract Fatty Acyl-ACP thioesterase (FAT) is a key enzyme controlling oil biosynthesis in plant seeds. FATs can be divided into two subfamilies, FATA and FATB according to their amino acid sequences and substrate specificity. The Upland cotton genome contains 20 GhFAT genes, amongst which 6 genes were of the GhFATA subfamily and 14 of the GhFATB subfamily. The 20 GhFAT genes are unevenly distributed on 14 chromosomes. The GhFATA genes have 5 or 7 exons and the GhFATB genes have 6 or 7 exons. All GhFAT proteins have the conserved Acyl-ACP_TE domain and PLN02370 super family, the typical characteristics of plant… More >

The method under concern demands more simple calculations and fewer efforts compared to the existing methods. Besides, the posed formable transform decomposition method has been utilized to yield a series solution for given fractional partial differential equations. Moreover, several interesting formulas relevant to the… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.3, pp. 3025-3060, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.025470

Abstract The analytical solution of the multi-dimensional, time-fractional model of Navier-Stokes equation using the triple and quadruple Elzaki transform decomposition method is presented in this article. The aforesaid model is analyzed by employing Caputo fractional derivative. We deliberated three stimulating examples that correspond to the triple and quadruple Elzaki transform decomposition methods, respectively. The findings illustrate that the established approaches are extremely helpful in obtaining exact and approximate solutions to the problems. The exact and estimated solutions are delineated via numerical simulation. The proposed analysis indicates that the projected configuration is extremely meticulous, highly efficient, and precise in understanding the behavior… More >

    Yiguo Chen1,2,3,*, Congjun Feng1,2, Yonghong He3, Zhijun Chen3, Xiaowei Fan3, Chao Wang3, Xinmin Ge4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.3, pp. 2451-2463, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.021145

Abstract The low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique has been used to probe the pore size distribution and the fluid composition in geophysical prospecting and related fields. However, the speed and accuracy of the existing numerical inversion methods are still challenging due to the ill-posed nature of the first kind Fredholm integral equation and the contamination of the noises. This paper proposes a novel inversion algorithm to accelerate the convergence and enhance the precision using empirical truncated singular value decompositions (TSVD) and the linearized Bregman iteration. The L1 penalty term is applied to construct the objective function, and then the linearized… More > Graphic Abstract

Extraction of Strain Characteristic Signals from Wind Turbine Blades Based on EEMD-WT

    Jin Wang1, Zhen Liu1,*, Ying Wang1, Caifeng Wen2,3, Jianwen Wang2,3

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.5, pp. 1149-1162, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.025209

Abstract Analyzing the strain signal of wind turbine blade is the key to studying the load of wind turbine blade, so as to ensure the safe and stable operation of wind turbine in natural environment. The strain signal of the wind turbine blade under continuous crosswind state has typical non-stationary and unsteady characteristics. The strain signal contains a lot of noise, which makes the analysis error. Therefore, it is very important to denoise and extract features of measured signals before signal analysis. In this paper, the joint algorithm of ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) and wavelet transform (WT) is used for… More >

Application of Hankel Dynamic Mode Decomposition for Wide Area Monitoring of Subsynchronous Resonance

    Lei Wang1, Tiecheng Li1, Hui Fan2, Xuekai Hu1, Lin Yang3, Xiaomei Yang3,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.4, pp. 851-867, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.025383

Abstract In recent years, subsynchronous resonance (SSR) has frequently occurred in DFIG-connected series-compensated systems. For the analysis and prevention, it is of great importance to achieve wide area monitoring of the incident. This paper presents a Hankel dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) method to identify SSR parameters using synchrophasor data. The basic idea is to employ the DMD technique to explore the subspace of Hankel matrices constructed by synchrophasors. It is analytically demonstrated that the subspace of these Hankel matrices is a combination of fundamental and SSR modes. Therefore, the SSR parameters can be calculated once the modal parameter is extracted. Compared… More >

    Tariq Ahamed Ahanger1,*, Fadl Dahan2,3, Usman Tariq1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.2, pp. 2429-2445, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.037692

Abstract In the Internet of Things (IoT), the users have complex needs, and the Web Service Composition (WSC) was introduced to address these needs. The WSC’s main objective is to search for the optimal combination of web services in response to the user needs and the level of Quality of Services (QoS) constraints. The challenge of this problem is the huge number of web services that achieve similar functionality with different levels of QoS constraints. In this paper, we introduce an extension of our previous works on the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) and Bat Algorithm (BA). A new hybrid algorithm was… More >

Abstract Control charts (CCs) are one of the main tools in Statistical Process Control that have been widely adopted in manufacturing sectors as an effective strategy for malfunction detection throughout the previous decades. Measurement errors (M.E’s) are involved in the quality characteristic of interest, which can effect the CC’s performance. The authors explored the impact of a linear model with additive covariate M.E on the multivariate cumulative sum (CUSUM) CC for a specific kind of data known as compositional data (CoDa). The average run length is used to assess the performance of the proposed chart. The results indicate that M.E’s significantly… More >
