    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.55, No.3, pp. 419-433, 2018, DOI: 10.3970/cmc.2018.02289

Abstract By using efficient and timely medical diagnostic decision making, clinicians can positively impact the quality and cost of medical care. However, the high similarity of clinical manifestations between diseases and the limitation of clinicians’ knowledge both bring much difficulty to decision making in diagnosis. Therefore, building a decision support system that can assist medical staff in diagnosing and treating diseases has lately received growing attentions in the medical domain. In this paper, we employ a multi-label classification framework to classify the Chinese electronic medical records to establish corresponding relation between the medical records and disease categories, and compare this method… More >

Finite Rotation Piezoelectric Exact Geometry Solid-Shell Element with Nine Degrees of Freedom per Node

    G. M. Kulikov1, S. V. Plotnikova1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.23, No.3, pp. 233-264, 2011, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2011.023.233

Abstract This paper presents a robust non-linear piezoelectric exact geometry (EG) four-node solid-shell element based on the higher-order 9-parameter equivalent single-layer (ESL) theory, which permits one to utilize 3D constitutive equations. The term EG reflects the fact that coefficients of the first and second fundamental forms of the reference surface are taken exactly at each element node. The finite element formulation developed is based on a new concept of interpolation surfaces (I-surfaces) inside the shell body. We introduce three I-surfaces and choose nine displacements of these surfaces as fundamental shell unknowns. Such choice allows us to represent the finite rotation piezoelectric… More >

An Efficient Reliability-based Optimization Method for Uncertain Structures Based on Non-probability Interval Model

    C. Jiang1, Y.C. Bai1, X. Han1,2, H.M. Ning1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.18, No.1, pp. 21-42, 2010, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2010.018.021

Abstract In this paper, an efficient interval optimization method based on a reliability-based possibility degree of interval (RPDI) is suggested for the design of uncertain structures. A general nonlinear interval optimization problem is studied in which the objective function and constraints are both nonlinear and uncertain. Through an interval order relation and a reliability-based possibility degree of interval, the uncertain optimization problem is transformed into a deterministic one. A sequence of approximate optimization problems are constructed based on the linear approximation technique. Each approximate optimization problem can be changed to a traditional linear programming problem, which can be easily solved by… More >
