    Abolfazl Mehbodniya1, Surbhi Bhatia2, Arwa Mashat3, Mohanraj Elangovan4,*, Sudhakar Sengan5

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.3, pp. 1071-1082, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.021529 - 10 November 2021

Abstract Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is an independent device that comprises a discrete collection of Sensor Nodes (SN) to sense environmental positions, device monitoring, and collection of information. Due to limited energy resources available at SN, the primary issue is to present an energy-efficient framework and conserve the energy while constructing a route path along with each sensor node. However, many energy-efficient techniques focused drastically on energy harvesting and reduced energy consumption but failed to support energy-efficient routing with minimal energy consumption in WSN. This paper presents an energy-efficient routing system called Energy-aware Proportional Fairness Multi-user… More >

Abstract Wireless sensor networks (WSN) have become a hot research area owing to the unique characteristics and applicability in diverse application areas. Clustering and routing techniques can be considered as an NP hard optimization problem, which can be addressed by metaheuristic optimization algorithms. With this motivation, this study presents a chaotic sandpiper optimization algorithm based clustering with groundwater flow optimization based routing technique (CSPOC-GFLR). The goal of the CSOC-GFLR technique is to cluster the sensor nodes in WSN and elect an optimal set of routes with an intention of achieving energy efficiency and maximizing network lifetime. More >

    R. Lavanya1,*, S. Kannan2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.1, pp. 323-337, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.021467 - 26 October 2021

Abstract A vehicular ad hoc network (VANET), a subfield of mobile adhoc network (MANET) is defined by its high mobility by demonstrating the dissimilar mobility patterns. So, VANET clustering techniques are needed with the consideration of the mobility parameters amongst the nearby nodes for constructing the stable clustering techniques. At the same time, security is also a major design issue in VANET, this can be resolved by the intrusion detection systems (IDS). In contrast to the conventional IDS, VANET based IDS are required to be designed in such a way that the functioning of the system… More >

Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) is a technological revolution that redefined communication and computation of modern era. IoT generally refers to a network of gadgets linked via wireless network and communicates via internet. Resource management, especially energy management, is a critical issue when designing IoT devices. Several studies reported that clustering and routing are energy efficient solutions for optimal management of resources in IoT environment. In this point of view, the current study devises a new Energy-Efficient Clustering-based Routing technique for Resource Management i.e., EECBRM in IoT environment. The proposed EECBRM model has three stages namely, fuzzy logic-based More >

    R. Kanthavel1,*, R. Dhaya2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 649-659, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.019779 - 03 September 2021

Abstract Wireless Underground Sensor Networks (WUSNs) refer to a group of nodes working underneath the earth plane that has been predicted to render concurrent observation capability in the hostile subversive and underwater surroundings. The accurate monitoring in places like underground earth, water, lubricates so on called non-conventional media need high accuracy of tiny sized sensors with antennas at a similar size. Therefore, an investigation is needed to study the opportunities and drawbacks of utilizing WUSNs without compromising the effectiveness of real-time monitoring procedures. With this, the major confrontation is to institute a trustworthy underground communication regardless… More >

Energy Efficient Clustering Protocol to Enhance Network Lifetime in Wireless Sensor Networks

    S. Nanthini1,*, S. Nithya Kalyani2, Sudhakar Sengan3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.3, pp. 3595-3614, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015038 - 06 May 2021

Abstract In this paper, the energy conservation in the ununiform clustered network field is proposed. The fundamental reason behind the methodology is that in the process of CH election, nodes Competition Radius (CR) task is based on not just the space between nodes and their Residual Energy (RE), which is utilized in Energy-Aware Distributed Unequal Clustering (EADUC) protocol but also a third-degree factor, i.e., the nearby multi-hop node count. In contrast, a third-factor nearby nodes count is also used. This surrounding data is taken into account in the clustering feature to increase the network’s life span. More >
